Question about Dell Latitude D610 Notebook

Wireless connection with work laptop

I have a Dell Latitude D610 laptop for work. My home desktop pc is connected to Clearwire wireless. I am unable to get my laptop to connect to my system and allow internet access. I don't bring the work laptop home often, but need to set it up so that I can access the internet & work site from home. I am asked for Security, WEP, Passphrase & WEP Key 1 info when inserting the Linksys Range Plus wireless notebook adapter....but I don't know where to find this info.....can anyone help??? And, is a laptop the same as a notebook? Thanks!

Have a look at the book that came with the wireless router and see what is the ip address. it should be 198.162.1.254. type this into your home pc internet explorer address bar. you should get the router settings page. then go to the wireless setup page and you will find the wep key there

Wireless not working on Dell D610, installed drivers, enabled in bios able to use FN F2 key show icon but no lites above keyboard

it might be diasbled. try windows key + "x", if this doesn't work when you turn it on there, try going to network connections and enable the wireless. Go to control panel, select network and sharing, change adapter settings, you'd have something like wireless network connection, right click and click enable if its disabled.
