Question about PC Desktops

Well my computer had a virus, and now the speakers arent recognised on my computer, my computer has recently been restored and is working properlly now but the philips speakers still arent producing any sound, they turn on and are properly connected but just arent working, can anyone help me?

I have had the same problem with my altec lansing speakers on my desktop at home. a freind of mine who is thankfully way more tech savvy told me that is was most likely the driver, or that i had a registry error and the sound card wasnt communicating with the speakers properly.

he told me to run a driver scan to make sure they were all in place.

Check to see if the soundcard that powers your speakers is working properly.

My dell vostro 3500 won't play sound when I connect it to the computer because I have a deep freeze program on it.

Ethernet connection died


This could be related to a lot of issues not enough ram causing memory dumps ,Virus or Malware , or Faulty ethernet lead.
Will it start without the ethernet lead connected ?

Does it start in safe mode ?
You might have a virus or malware or it could be a hardware issue
Reboot the computer As the computer is booting repeatadly press the F8 key as the computer is booting

Did a system restore on my computer but when it was completely restored everything works fine except the speakers. i unplugged them and did the whole restart thing and still speakers arent showing up and...


you should start with updating the sound drivers. they get lost sometimes on restore. it wouldn't hurt to go to EMachines and update all drivers for your unit. also look at he specs for your unit, it will tell you who the sound manufacturer is and then you can go to their web site to update drivers also. if you need more info reply back

System restore utility not getting activated by known methods


I'm a certified computer tech and have been doing this for years. system restore often causes more problems than it fixes. I recently ran into this issue on a friends computer. upon investigating his computer was infected with a nasty virus that infected all of his restore points. go to housecall.antiviurs.com or another security website and run a free online virus scan. check that first, if that isn't the problem try manually going into system restore and running it (start > all programs> Accessories > System Tools > system restore). it may be able to be fixed with the system restore. if not you may want to consider either taking it to a technician or backing up your files and reloading the comptuer.

Had to wipe my HD now my speakers arent working


You need to download the sound card drivers for your particular machine. Go to the manufacturers website and look for downloads for your particular model. The drivers are usualy found under the heading of "SUPPORT" Since you did a fresh install of your operating system you will need to re-install all the motherboard drivers for your machine. This would include video, usb,and chipset drivers.
