Well my computer had a virus, and now the speakers arent recognised on my computer, my computer has recently been restored and is working properlly now but the philips speakers still arent producing any sound, they turn on and are properly connected but just arent working, can anyone help me?

the drivers might have been corrupted by something or you might have got a virus run your antivrus program and test for a virus then
you might have to uninstall then reinstall either the sound drivers or the sound card make sure you have both of these devices baked up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver right click to install driver
as for the sound
control panel sounds and audio,volume you can adjust the volume or advanced,speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have selected the right speakers or control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll to sound,video and game cotrollers could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers

Worked before? If so, did your buddy try Last Known Good Configuration on startup which restores the hardware profile which worked. If that does not fix it, the following tool from Microsoft will check the services and settings on your computer for you, a big time saver.

Try to rest your device first and try again, if this do not work check your PC for any virus, uninstall any add ons, recently down loaded programms, if possible reset your PC to an earlier restore point. select from control panel- system-device manager-system restore. try to delete all off line contents, cookies , defragment your PC if not done earlier, connect the ipod now and check, if not check your ipod with another pc if there is any error on the memory.if so try to open by refreshing and searching for files using the search in the start. hi there, when you installed vista, did you do a reformat, then install vista? If so, you will need to find your audio drivers. The easiest way is to go into device manager and look for a mixing device. If your system has the audio drivers, but not a mixing device, you will need to get a mixing device for your computer.

rigth click the my computer then manage, device manager. check the driver of your sound.....

go to the hp website and try downloading the drivers for it.

Once removed I would download Spybot search and destroy and use it.

you will need to install drivers for your sound driver. try the website that manufactured the PC's website.
Usually all you will need is the computers model number.

please install motherboard cd in you pc then set the volume control option to windows default thats all..your speakers will get ready to work properly...
