My Whirlpool Quiet Wash plus dishwasher seems to have died. No power. None of the buttons work, it quiet mid-cycle. No breaker issue, my garbage disposal runs off same breaker and is working fine. Any ideas? I was thinking the comp. board that the buttons work off of is fried. If this is the case any idea how much to replace it? Would it be cheaper to buy a new dishwasher?

Sound like there is something in the sump part of the pump
remove the bottom spray arm and the top of the pump housing it is held in place with #15 torx screws once you have the top off then look for the foreign oblects inside the pump if you find a lot then a shop vac works great to get all the gunk out

Sometimes the check valve (the little round thing on the bottom right front of the dishwasher) sticks due to grease or food hardening on its stem. To fix this problem, simply wiggle the check valve up and down a little bit to free it up. Hopefully this will help you.

Sounds like the timer module is going bad. Might be getting moisture on contacts. That would explain why it works one time and not the next.Just trying to help!

Not cleaning properly

Our Whirlpool Quiet Wash plus is 20+ years old and was on its way out the door because of erratic white residue, spotting, and film.  Nothing worked: vinegar, different soaps, more soap, less soap. Today I opened it up and started digging behind covers and checking the insides - multiple places were clogged with a soap/mineral film - ugly! I sprayed the insides with Restore 4 (a tile cleaner) and scraped and brushed and broke loose the hidden deposits. The only thing I didn't open was the sump pump - but now know how to do so. (thanks FixYa) Then I added about a 1/2 quart of vinegar and ran it full hot on the heavy wash cycle, added more vinegar between each cycle and let it dry.  It looks super inside - the gunk is gone.  I am now washing a load of glasses and am hoping for the best!
