Tv unexpectedly powers off

1 yr old TV - approx 6 months ago the TV would power itself off. It was a rare occasion. We changed the lamp and it was ok for several months and now the issue is back again and even worse. It powers itself down after several hours of use. takes several minutes before it can be turned on again and will stay on for maybe 30 minutes or less before the dance begin agains.

I'm having the same problem...the tv works fine for a couple of hours then it just turns itself off. And after the initial power cycle, it continues to power itself down approx every 15-20 minutes. It take a few minutes to completly power down before you can turn the power back on.. It has been a seriously annoying problem and I am considering purchasing a new TV.

Sony KDF50E2000 lcd tv has burned out it's second bulb. Replacement bulb was OSRAM brand. It only lasted 10 months, now it won't come on. Should I be looking at the ballast or did I just get a poor...

Hi,Osram lamps average around 3000-4000 hrs.Normally 1 -1 1/2 yr.I do think the lamp went out.The ballast is a possibility, when it's going bad it will make clicking noises or attempts to light the bulb.I recommend to get the Original Philips lamp for they average 6000-8000 hrs 3-4 yrs.

I bought a SONY GRAND WEGA LCD Projection HD-TV about 2 years ago i rarely use it about 6 to 7 times,i turned it on lately and the screen shows no picture ,power light blinks yellow for a few seconds then...

Its possible that one of your fans has failed, and or it could be the lamp itself. Sony television will not power on if a fan is faulty. Open the back of unit and look at all fans to make sure they are running, if so then replace your lamp.

TV on/off

How long is your TV on before it turns off? Check the fans and make sure they are all working. The TV may be shutting off due to overheating if a fan quit working.

If you think the lamp is still good maybe try replacing the lamp ballast.

Hitachi 50VF820 (LCD projection)randomly turns off, all three lights (temp, lamp, power)blink then the set turns back on after approx. 30-45 seconds. Lamp was changed approx. 4-5 months ago. Cleaned out all...

I believe I may have solved this problem by putting a small fan blowing on the intake of the Lamp fan. I put the fan in place and the TV has not turned off randomly since. That was only a day ago so I'll see if it is a permanent fix. If so I will probably try to mount the fan on the back of the TV out of sight.
