There are about 4 main power supplies in the TV, standby 5vdc (always on and running 24/7 the second the TV is plug into the wall outlet), the other 3 are switched on when you hit the power switch on the TV or on the remote, every time you power it on the power supplies will see current surge when it turn on, which can stress the components, not much you can do, if the TV was design correctly to take the current surge into account then it should have no problem, but so far I have not seen really well made TV any more, does not matter the brand, youcan see that at FIXYA with all the problems everyone has with the TV's.

I have a vizio e320va that when turned on the backlight flickers repeatedly with picture in and out then starts blinking with vertical lines then the screen goes black and the power stays on, This is all...

The tv is having a problems with the board called T-Con board it is dying and the problems. That why the tv is not sustancening the tv pictures for those coded pictures pixels by the T-Con board to stay on to the tv LCD screen panel. This tv problems only causes by the tv T-Con board it is dying only if the tv problems came on to the tv by itself only.If these problems causes by u or an object by outer forces by hitting to the tv LCD screen panel itself. Now the tv LCD screen panel itself it is dying and the causes.Than the tv it is not repairable,tv now only can it to do a replacement of the tv whole LCD screen panel itself only. Not practical because the tv LCD screen panel are 90% important to the tv and the cost of the tv.If u replacing the tv LCD screen panel itself will cost the same as a new tv.The tv is under a year old,why don't u just call Vizio corp. and take ur tv warrenty repair.

My samsung 46" lcd tv

This could be due to dry or cracked solder joints which are fine when the the TV is cold but lose connection when the TV warms up. If you are able to use a soldering iron and have good eyesight then you may be able to try fixing it yourself, otherwise take it to a TV repair shop.
Accessing the circuit boards can be quite difficult without the correct tools and you may cause more damage instead of finding the fault.

Sony trinitron KV-27FS100 like blinks 4 times then stops and repeats how can i fix

There is something wrong with your set's vertical deflection. To prevent picture tube damage, the set blanks out the screen and flashes that 4-blink code. This is usually because the vertical output IC has failed or there is some other defect in the vertical output circuit, or a problem in the power supply so the vertical output isn't receiving proper voltage.

The vertical output is IC451 on the "A" board (the largest one holding most of the parts). You can try checking the solder connections to its pins, which is a common problem in all brands. Or you can try replacing the IC. But beyond that there's not much you'll be able to do without a voltmeter and the circuit diagram.

I would recommend having a professional check the TV if you want to keep it. TV service requires some special tools and experience to locate the bad parts, and there's the possibility of personal injury or causing more damage to the TV if you don't know what you're doing. Or use this as an excuse to buy a new TV. Small LCD sets are quite inexpensive now, and a new TV may be not very much more than the cost of repairing your TV.

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

40" LCD tv pierced w pieces of glass!

Unfortunatly no.. you will need to either live with it or replace the entire LCD panel. You can have it repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new LCD. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.

My samsung tv turns on and off repeatedly at

Mine was doing that then it quit even turning on so I replaced the 4 Capacitors today on the power supply board that had bulged up on the top 3 had split open they where on the top right corner of the board where the ribbon jumps from the power board to the main board with ones from Jameco Part Number 606521 they worked perfect but make sure you put them in with the correct polarity easy to do just keep an eye on it. Very simple repair and took me about 30 min to take itapart solder on the new ones and put it back together all for under $10.

KDF-E55A20 red light blinks 5 times

it works!! First i took off the front panel. Just check your manual for instructions, very easy to do. If you do not have a manual just down load one from google.. The instruction are easy to follow. The screw they have you loosen with a alan wrench is attached to the plastic, so you do not have to worry about dropping it inside the tv. Removing the lamp was simple. once out you will notice on either side are two small mesh screens. One of mine was 80% blocked with dust, the other side was only 30-40% covered. I used a vacuum to remove the blockage, i did not want the dust and dirt to go inside the bulb. i then cleaned all around the lamp. Reinstalled, and we are go to go. The kids are happy and i am happier since my wife not be buying a new TV. if this does not work it is time to replace the bulb.
total cost of repair $.00
time required to fix, less than 15 minutes.

Also when my TV was loosing sound and picture and then return. I did turn off my TV, then turned on. I nothiced a red blinking light. Mine flashed 5 times. After some reserch, 5 times is video related, bulb or video board. google red flashing light with the model you have and you will find what all the codes mean.
So if yours is flashing 5 times try the above, it might work for you and it is well worth the time before you call a tech and drops hundreds of dollars.

hope this helps.

Niko Screen and channel problem

Fortunately, I have not had the fuzzy green screen problem in quite awile, and since getting the Dish, I have not had to worry about channel memory loss. I am thinking about turning this one into a computer monitor...is this even possible... and getting a bigger tv for the front room, HD of course.
