Mine does the same thing. I have a GVW9959KQ2 and Friday night when I
tried to do a small load on the Whitest Whites cycle. It was squeaking
something terrible as the tub moved around and then it got to about 29
minutes and quit counting down even though the cycle was still
running..then it gave me an OB error. I readjusted the load and
restarted..then I got the LD error. The clothes were washed, it just
needed to be rinsed and spun, so I tried the Rinse & Spin cycle. It
tried several times but kept giving me either an OB or LD error, so I
removed the clothes, rinsed them in the sink and ran a load with
nothing in it. That time, it started making whirring noises as it
washed, then would give me another OB error. It got to about 7 minutes
and would start to spin but stop..go back up to 8 minutes and try
    again..then back to 7..then 8 again..then I stopped the cycle. I
canceled it and started over only to have the same thing happen.

I also noticed that at one point, it jumped from 19 minutes to
    12..then got stuck on 7. I'm assuming that's a programming issue and
not a mechanical one??? I feel sure the water pump is probably clogged
as I've noticed lumps of wet lint come out a small hole at the top of
the tub just under the back part of the lid...but I'm wondering if a
circuit board needs replaced or something else along those lines.
There's also water leaking and being splashed out the side and back
during the wash cycles. My husband is going to take a look today to check the water pump, but beyond that..any suggestions?

Washer will stop when the rinse cycle start and it wont dispense the softner and when I try to start it back up it wont do nothing it will continue to stop

Washer fills but won't start agitation, gives humming noise.  Tried extra spin cycle, begins agitation, stops, won't drain or spin and gives "ob" even after rearranging small load.  Now leaking, too.  Local appliance repair firms won't service.

wash load remains very wet can not put calypso into a spin cycle

Yes, but I don't understand where any clothing could escape and end up in the drain trap/pump. I, too, have picked out copious amounts of lint or my dog's hair from that orifice at the top of the tub. Does that mean I may be experiencing a blockage rather than needing a new u joint and another piece that would have cost me $546?

You likely have clothing stuck under the wash plate. I received "out of balance" & "suds lock" errors & tried resolving the issue with extended spin and extra rinse cycles with the same results you have describe "not going below 7 min left in cycle". Thinking I had a clogged drainage hose, I removed the back panel after hose disconnection and "snaked" drainage hose - had problem here once before. Some lint here again but not enough to cause problem I reasoned, then I move to the basket area. Remove the plastic cover in the middle over the wash plate with a flat head screw driver by pressing in on indented tabs. Once removed, use a 10mm socket & ratchet to remove wash plate. I had three pieces of laundry underneath, 2 socks, & a microfiber runner's tank top. I concluded this to be the major problem caused by the small items entering in the gap in the rubber ring around the wash plate. This gap has increased over time by the ring's shrinkage. I am applying silicone to close this gap, but will also use a mesh laundry bag for smaller items in the future. Also recheck the leveling of the machine - mine was off considerably. Once I reassembled the wash plate & hose connections, the machine began working properly. No doubt, this design was not well thought through.

Gltf2940fs1 machine stopped with 1 minute left in the cycle, could it be the door latch or motor control board

I appreciate your post, friend!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire washer, GLTF2940FS1, stopped with 1 minute left in your cycle. This could be a potential issue with your door latch, control board, or a miscommunication within your washer. I would recommend a reset on your washer and you can do that by unplugging the power cord for at least ten minutes. If that does help correct your issue you may need to consult with a technician for proper diagnosis and repair. This may help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

Calypso washer stops/runs every 5 - 30 seconds in the middle of any washing cycle. No error codes. It just stops and than runs again all the time and cannot finish any washing cycle. It is 8 years...

I had the same problem. The washer control board has an intermittent failure. If you unplug power for about 30 minutes then plug it back in you will get a PF code (power failure). Ignore this code and push start again. It may run till it finishes the cycle or it may start cycling again right away. A new board costs about $180 at

Spin Cycle

I just replaced my second motor control board because of the same problem. Mine starts to spin but never reaches speed and stops, then it repeats. It can do this for hours. I think we are overloading the machine washing area rugs. The fuses are OK on both failed boards and nothing is burned and all caps look normal. At $150 a pop, I would rather replace some components if I knew which ones. For a quick fix, the new board worked for me.

Calypso washer - LD Code - clothes still wet

The code on your machine stands for 'Long Drain'. Ld flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. I would bet that the bath mats left a bunch of stuff stuck in the recirculation pump hose, or pump itself, and the water cannot be drained fast enough. Check the intake and exit hoses of the recirc pump. It's easiest to get to the pump through the front panel of the machine(click here). Looks like this: click here. Hope this helps.
(Definitely get under there and check to make sure the pump hoses are not clogged. At $129 it's an expensive fix for a $10 bath mat that clogged up the hose with fuzz. 'know what I'm sayin'' :o) )

BTW, I have the maintenance manual & have experience at replacing the recirc. pump, control board, motor board, touchpad, & lid switch so far.

Whirlpool Calypso stops at 26 minutes and throws ob code

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control. You say this happens when the washer is empty also. One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.

If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.

The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.,wkktswgwqtqrbwfxgtqsskgwtqkq,vi/gftrgbbtfxfffgqskfk/1/1303472/5961857/image48348img-or.jpg

Washer stops in middle of cycle,

Junk it! Cut you losses now. I had a Calypso for 6 years and went through 3 pumps, various circuit boards , a drive motor ,etc..... not to mention the down time of not having a washer in a 4 person household. We bought a Whirlpool Duet HT 9200. Clean , fresh laundry not all balled up anymore. Junk it. You'll thank me.
