SOURCE: Troy Bilt Trimmer 75SS stalls at full throttle. new gas

Hello. Let me assist you. Since your trimmer runs but stalls at ful throttle it is telling you that there is a fuel problem. Not enough gas is getting through the carbeurator to satisfy the engines needs on full throttle. Most likely the carbeurator is gummed up. A common problem. Let's see if we can un gum it by getting a can or carbeurtor cleaner. Go to any auto parts store and talk to the clerk about your need.

SOURCE: Rough idel and no throttle on a Troy -bilt BT25ET

It sounds like you have done everything but replaced the fuel filter. Which is usually located in the fuel tank. And clean the muffler. You will probably find some oil and carbine build up.

good luck

SOURCE: Troy-Bilt TB70SS will not start

Hi. Go to any auto parts store and get a can of starter fluid. Have a helper squirt a little into the air cleaner while u start it up. Then continue to squirt the starter fluid to keep it running until the engine sounds good again. J.

SOURCE: replace starter rope on a

you will need to flip the casing upside down and wind the pulley counter clockwise, it should be pressure on the pulley if not then it is clockwise, once you have wound it six or seven times, you will need to feed the pull rope from the outside in, there is a hole on the pulley where the rope comes through, while keeping the tension on the pulley, once the rope is through you will need to knot the end and burn the end of the knot, let go of the pulley it will wind the rope, pull on the rope a few times to make sure the knot is holding, then reassembly the unit. Hope this helps Tim

I have a 2 cycle Troy-Bilt TB90BC line trimmer. Won't idle. I've had the carburetor dipped, installed a new carb kit, replace the gas lines, but will only run at full speeds. Dies out easily....

One of three things is occuring here. The IDLE SPEED SCREW (Phillips head) on the throttle plate is screwed in way too far. The L and H mixture screws are open way too much allowing the carb to use excessive fuel, even on startup. Those 2 screws may need adjusting. The metering lever in your carb is not adjusted flush with the carb body flange and is holding the gas needle open constantly. Check these things and post back.

Sometimes, unfortunately, the chemicals and solvents used in a "dip" and/or cleaning solution are too harsh. They tend to "swell" the very sensitive check valves inside the carb. The idle fuel circuit has one, the high speed main nozzle has one, and there are one or two inside the primer pase assembly on top of the carb. You state that it won't idle, but does it run otherwise. If it does, some carb adjustments may be required on the L and H screws to get it to idle.

TROY BILT TB 70 TRIMMER-NEW CARB KIT-NEW PLUG. NEW FILTER- NEW GAS--STARTS FINE IN CHOKE #1 POSITION- RUNS IN POSITION #2- WHEN SELECTOR IS MOVED TO POSITION #3 ENGINE DIES- ALMOST LIKE FUEL...

If you rebuilt the carb did you turn any of the screws on the carb while cleaning or take out, you might have just the low idle screw closed a little to much open half turn and see what happens. If you look at the carb where needle screws are located on the side,if you have two screws it will be stamped with an " L " and?or an " H " next to each screw. If you only have one screw then turn that one, to left to get more fuel. Good Luck...

Runs ok at low choke then stalls out when choke is moved up

You are having issues with you carb then. If you disassemble the weedeater partly then you will see to screws/adjusters sticking out. The one on the left side is the low idle, and the right side the high idle. You need to adjust the high idle side little by little. I'm talking a 1/4 of a turn at a time until desired results are recieved.

CLEAND CARB NEED TO KNOW HOW TO ADJUST CARB

Most carbs have the adjustment removed (EPA) but if yours still has the adjusting screws here are the seat of the pants methods:

One Screw Carb: Turn it all the way in and then back out 3-1/2 turns, start the engine and make slight turns in or out until the motor runs smooth from idle to wide open, do not get it too lean, turn in until max RPM is reached then turn out 1/8 turn and go from there.

Two Screw Carb: You adjust the one to remedy either the low or high, high is adjusted until the motor runs smoothly under load at high RPM and the low is adjusted until idle and off idle is smooth.

My Kawasaki Trimmer is running bad. It will run

Check the throttle cable. You probably need to tighten it up. You will find it on the left hand side of the engine that is mounted it the top of the trimmer, thats where it normally is, but with the japanese you wouldn't know!! Have a look for it, won't be hard to find anyway. Also check the finger throttle. probably slack too.

Once you found the throttle cable at the top, find a optimum idling value and then tighten the cord at that point. (there should be an adjustable screw there.)

Hope it help's.

Hughie.

Troy-Bilt TB75SS 31cc string trimmer dies when given throttle.

Your carburetor needs cleaned. Disassemble carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. Make sure that the small screen is free of debris. Use a Den Tek Brush,
(http://www.dentek.com/shop.php?target=products&product_id=7), to clean the small portals in the carb. Reassemble and start. If this doesn't work for you then you will have to buy a carb. kit and replace all appropriate parts. If you need further assistance, just let me know.
