My external microphone for my laptop keeps carckling when I go to record, how can I fix this. I tried cleaning the input and installing a driver but this was unsuccessful.

Hi there,
This would either indicate a problem with the cable connecting the microphone to the computer, or it could indicate a problem with your sound card. My suggestion is to try the microphone on a different computer. If the crackling stops then your sound card needs to be serviced or replaced. (Pending reinstalling the drivers doesn't work.)

If you still hear crackling on another computer, you can either bring the microphone to a store which specialized in audio products, or replace it.

Hi Crackling through headphones when playing back audio through PG42USB cheers Jack

If you put the MONITOR control over to monitor the mic, does it still crackle? If it does, then send the mic to Shure for repairs.

Hello,
Is the microphone built into this webcam? If it is are you using this as the microphone while in Skype? If you open Skype and go to options and then tools you can select which microphone that Skype uses. Please update with answers so I can help further.

Crackling noise and low volume

If the mic is a condensor you would need to have phantom power, or it will not work. Use a small mixer or externat power supply. We here at Pro Line Music Have small mixers that have phantom power. 215-736-8055
