Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check for the red button, this is usually located in the rear of the oven. You’ll have to unplug it completely then unscrew the rear screws and there is a red button with two purple wires located on a small black round piece, and the other one is located behind the control panel. Push them to reset the oven, if it works then its great. If it won’t work then you’ll have to replace the Electronic Range control (ERC) to resolve this issue.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hello,

I would advice you check and make sure the igniter electrodes ceramic body is not cracked, make sure the finish is not flaking off from the inside of the burner, remove the burner and shake it to see if any flakes fall out because problems like this are caused by damaged igniter electrode.

Also, Check that the oven is plugged in, there is power to the outlet, and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Spark ignition oven need electricity to power the igniters. If your oven light turns on, you have power. But if not, unplug the oven and plug to another outlet.

Take care.

to be clear the burners do light, the gas works. I need to ignite the burners with a match because there is no current in the stove. The outlet works fine i tested it. the little ceramic sparkers on stove top appear fine without flaking.

    Hello,

Switches, control modules or igniters can go bad on a stove with
electronic ignition. Use the following guide to test these devices.

    1. Test if the switch is at fault by turning a
functioning burner to the “Light” position while simultaneously turning
the one that’s not working to “Light.” If the burner that was not
working now comes on, the burner has a bad switch.

    2. One at a time, turn each burner dial to “Light” for three seconds,
then off again. Watch the igniters to see if they spark while you are
doing this. (Turning off the kitchen lights may help you see them.)
if none of the igniters sparks, you will need to replace the switch module on the unit.
    Take care.

there is no electric current to test, no display, no light. the power is interrupted somewhere in the stove. is there a internal fuse to replace?

  • Jimoh Adeleke Muyideen Jul 19, 2010

    Hello,

Check your owner's manual to see if your oven ignition system has a
fuse. on most oven, the fuse is located under the cooktop, though locations vary. Replace
it with the same size fuse if the fuse element is burnt.

    Take care.

Frigidaire freestanding gas oven pilot light is out

Hello - Hi - Does any part of the range work? I would recommend verifying that a fuse is not blown or a circuit breaker tripped. Test the power outlet with a lamp, hair dryer, etc. Another questions, does "Loc" appear in the display if any button is pushed? The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents the warmer drawer and most oven controls from being turned ON. If so, press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked. Do the maintop burners work? Granting that it does, you can try confirming that the shut-off valve on the gas pressure regulator is in the "ON" position (usually located on the back left-hand side of the range). This valve shuts off gas to the oven. If after the basic troubleshooting, you continue to experience the issue I would suggest contacting a certified technician to assist in the full diagnosis and repair of your range.

We have a Whirlpool Gas Range, model SF357PEKQ. When I start the bake feature, you can hear the gas flow, the ignitor click (about 4 times) yet there is no ignition of the gas (flame doesn't start)....

Whirlpool had some grounding issues with some of their electronic ignition ranges. Make sure your outlet is grounded first. Then you might need to make sure the bake burner itself is grounded very good against the range frame. I have put star washers between the burner and frame and tightened very tight, that sometimes helps. Also make sure the holes in the burner under the spark electrode are clear from debris. Sometimes the burning of gas leaves a residue that can stop up the holes and not let the gas flow out where the spark is hitting the burner. Hope that helps.

I have a maytag model # mgr5775qdw and the oven will not ignite. I know it is not the gas line as the burners all light, and the broiler lights as well. It is only the oven that does not heat. . .what...

This could be two possible problems. The igniter maybe bad, but doubt it. The igniter works both the oven and broiler, I believe on this model. The first thing I suspect is the switch in your wiring harness. The harness has a switch attached to it for each manifold. The switch for your oven maybe out.

The oven of maytag range mgr5775qdw poorly

The ignitors/burners need to be cleaned properly.

Build up of grease, dirt, rust, mineral deposits, etc can cause improper gas flow resulting in a delayed ignition. That causes a build up of gas and the delayed ignition ignites it all at once, and you have your WHOOMP mini explosion.
