Question about Maytag Washing Machines
My maytag performa washing machine is make a grinding noise during the agitatation cycle. It does not make any strange noises during the spin cycle only during the agitation cycle.
If this is a top load model,it may be a bad "cam-dog" and this is what operates the clothes mover,as they get worn the cams will skip on the thrust bearing, these parts areall nylon so they do wear out and when they slip it can sound like a grinding noise, you need to remove ther clothes mover, then unscrew a 7/16" bolt to access the cam-dogs to replace them
