Open the front cover and push the print head to the left side.. now..on the right side inside the printer, you will be able to see the "lock" which is out of position, use a pen to push it back in.. the lock is located on the "wall" side... then try to push the print head back to the right side of the printer, if it able to go all the way back to home position, then switch on the printer.

There are 3 small dots that print across each page when I print. How do I get rid of those?

what type of printer, laser or inkjet. are the dots spaced down the page or across?

I suspect you have a laser and the dots are down the page in which case it is most likely the fuser unit or the cartridge.

To verify which, you can send a print to the printer and open the printer half way through. If the dots are present before the paper goes through the fuser (the hot bit that fixes the toner to the page) then its the catridge, otherwise it will be the fuser unit. you will need need to replace which ever part is the cause

Printer creates horizontal lines across paper that are either blank (no ink) or skipping/sliding looking blurring and distorting the text in that spot. This has been going on for a month. Changing...

The print-head is like a paint-brush -- brush sideways across a white-coloured wall, and you should get a wide "band" of paint. If only half of the paint-brush has paint on it, then only half of that "band" on the wall will get painted, leaving a horizontal strip of white showing through.

So, launch the Canon software that is installed on your computer, and run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to unclog those ink-jets that are _NOT_ shooting the ink onto the paper.

WHEN IT PRINTS IT IS SKIPPING LINES

The ink-jets are like a wide paint-brush, painting a "band" across the page.
If half of those ink-jets are clogged, or only half of the paint-brush has paint,
then only half of the "band" will be "painted" onto the surface.

So, run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to UNCLOG those jets.

First of all please check inside of the printer. You have to look for any piece of paper, paperclip or something like this. Then, please remove your printer cartridge and try to print with another one. There is an option that your printer "FUSER FIXING FILM" is damaged and that's why the paper sticks in that place. You have to find a skilled person for further assistance.

My new datamax printer is only printing half the label

Half in the print width? If so, there is an adjustment on the outside edge of the head carriage. There is a green know that will level the head across the platen.

The paper will not feed through the printer to print it goes half way and jams

It may be some thing sticking inside.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Half of the labels information is printing

I'm assuming you mean half is showing up as you go across the label. If that is the case and it's a very clear line where the print is cut off, then check the print width setting through the front panel of the printer. Press SETUP and look for setting called MAX WIDTH. It should be set to 104MM (4") which is the width of the print head. It is set to something smaller if the print is being cutoff.

If the print is fading away as you go across then that it is a print head balance issue. Look at the print head pressure dials on top of the print head assembly to make sure they are set evenly.

Hope that helps !

Lamp will not go all the way across the window to copy. Just comes out a few inches then goes back and turns off!

I would suspect that the shipping latch is causing the problem.
Look in the area where the paper comes out. Look up and on the bottom of the scanner, there is a green latch, about 2 inches ling and a half inch wide.
Push it in to the inside of the machine first then pull it out toward ou until you feel it snap into place.
I do believe that will resolve your problem.
Let me know. We will start with that.
