Hardware connection issue when scanning

Hello - I am trying to scan a document, but am getting an error message that tells me I am not able to connect to the device (the printer/scanner). I have restarted both my PC and the printer. Any suggestions?

Your USB cable is too thin, or too long, or both. USB signal loses strength beyong 6ft. Use a good quality, thick USB cable and if tha unit is over 10 ft. from the computer, use a USB active repeater.

What is the error 017-988 for phaser 6128mfp


It's a scan from PC error. Most common problem is that the destination folder for scan does not exist. Does it give that error on just a plain text document as well? It could be the document type and settings. Hardware wise could also be a main board issue.

When trying to scan a photo from the c7280 to the computer the printer displays the following error message No Scan Options : refer to documentation and troubleshoot. This is not covered in my printer...


That's because it's not a printer problem. The scan options are in your computer in the scanning software for your machine. Before you can scan you need to be connected to your computer with scan software running to tell it how to scan, what you're scanning, and where to send and save the image you scan.

Server connection error when scanning


have you set up your scan Email account with you page Scope disk with the copier. is the server set up for scan to email. Also check the konicaminolta web site for scan operator manual. Down load the scan programs

Cannot scan documents


ok try disabling the printer the enable it. almost like rebooting the printers drivers... if that dont resolve the issue then try reinstalling the printer incase that some of its drivers has bcome corrupted or uninstalled.

I have a brother MFC 9440CN when I try to scan a document the error message comes up as not being connected to pc. The cable is definitly connected as the print option works fine. Can you help. Thank you.


Are you scanning from the PC, or are you scanning from the printer?

If the latter, the scanner is trying to send the document to a server software on the PC, which is probably not running; hence the "not connected" message.

Try acquiring a picture using Control Panel -> Scanners -> Acquire Image and see if it works. If it does, you must run (or reinstall) the Control Center software, and configure it as to where to store the Scan-to-File documents.

Scanner not working


Hi Jkey !

As per the information you have provided, I understand that you are receiving an error "No scan option refer to the documentation" on the printer, when you try to print from the front panel of the printer (I mean from the printer's side).

However, plz provide me the proper error message so that I can assist you in the best possible way. If you are unable to scan from the printer's side, then try to scan from the computer and check if it is working or not. It should work when you try to scan from the computer, if not there may be a communication issue between the two devices.

To check the communication perform the below steps:

IF the printer is connected via USB cable, then perform below steps:

To isolate the issue I suggest you to try scanning from the Windows Image acquisition(WIA) wizard on the computer.

Follow the below steps to Scan using WIA
1.Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.

2.Click Start then Click All Programs then Click Accessories then Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.

3.Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer.

If you are able to scan fine using the above steps, please write back to me along with the exact error message.
