SOURCE: I have a baby lock

Stretch fabric is made for using the differential feed on your machine, sergers love stretchy things. Try widening the stitch you are using and turn your differential feed down one notch to allow the machine to get a good grip on the fabric, you may need to bump the differential feed up more if it still doesn't stitch nice, keep trying on a piece of scrap fabric of the same as you are using until you are happy with the stitch.Another solution is to put some lightweight tissue paper under the seams and then tear it off after you have sewn the seams, this works but will dull your blades over time.

I have a baby lock Elizabeth. When quilting with the feed dogs down, the fabric gets caught and shortens the stitches real small. What can I do to fix this?

Are you using the "Quilting foot"?
Stitch setting on stitch #3 and lengthen the stitch a bit that should help tons.

I have a Baby Lock 5280E. Can you tell me how to set the machine for rolled hem?

Assuming you mean a narrow rolled edge:
  1. Remove the left needle and thread.
  2. Open both the front and side covers.
  3. Raise the presser foot and the upper knife to the highest position.
  4. Clear the stitch fingers.
  5. Push the stitch with former release lever and remove the stitch former from the lower knife base. (Don't lose it!)
  6. Turn the stitch with adjusting dial until the "M" on the dial matches the red indicator on the needle plate.
  7. Set the stitch width length to "M".
  8. Close the covers, lower the presser foot and the upper knife.
This gives you a narrow edge. To roll the edge, increase the tension of the lower looper (the green knob) about three numbers higher than normal.

I have an Esante ESe2. I am having a problem with the bobbin. I was doing some embroidery and the machine broke a needle in some dense stitching. Now, the machine will sew about 10 stitches and then the...

Since the needle broke, it could have knocked your machine out of time--requiring service.

FIRST, try this: Remove the upper thread from the machine, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Frequently, when the thread "jumps" out of the thread path (or wraps around a guide or the spool), the thread will stitch about an inch and then break. If you watch the upper thread when you are stitching, do you see the thread tightening, tightening, tightening and then Snap?

As far as the bobbin installation, you would need to consult your owner's manual.

Feed dogs on serger don't advance

I use my BLSE200 all the time and ran into the same problem just last week. After pulling out my hair in frustration, I finally realized it had to do with the stitch length. Something wasn't connecting after I adjusted the stitch length, so when I re-set the stitch length, it popped things back into alignment and the feed dogs started working again. *whew* Hope that helps!

Here are rhe directions from the manual of "Image" model BLE1AT: 3 Thread Rollled Edge
With the stitch selector set on "D", a narrow edge can become a rolled edge. Remove the left needle and the corresponding thread. Clear the stitch fingers. Turn the stitch length adjusting dial clockwise into the rolled hem range and set the dail at 1.5 Set the stitch width to 3.5

Hope this will be of some help. Good luck and have a great day! Lisa
