Hey guys I have an ASUS M50Sseries model with a 15.4'' WXGA + display and I can't seem to adjust the screen brightness. To add to this some of my fn keys aren't working eg. fn plus the bluetooth key works but the internet one won't. All help will be appreciated thanks. :)

Connecting an External Monitor or Data Projector You can switch to an external monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and the laptop. The video information will automatically switch to the external monitor. 2. If you power up the laptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make and model laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn key plus one of the function key. Here is a list of key combinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 Dell = Fn + F8
Try going to control panel, then device manager, and try right clicking and updating all drivers that have to do with graphics or your screen.
If this doesn't do the trick then try finding the display drivers manually.
Do the following
To adjust the LCD brightness press the Fn + (Up) key combination or the Fn + (Down) key combination.
The changed screen brightness is displayed at the center of the screen for a moment.
1. Turn the computer on and press the F2 key when the SAMSUNG logo appears on the screen to enter the BIOS Setup.
2. Select the Boot menu and set the Brightness Mode Control item to User Control.
3. Press the F10 key to save the settings and exit Setup.
You should be able to use the "FN" key and "F5" key, press and hold the "Fn" key then while holding that key, press the "F5" key to decrease the brightness. Use the same(Fn) key and "F6" to increase the brightness.
Another way to adjust the screen brightness is to hold down the Functin key (blue, Fn) and then repeatedly press the up or down arrows (which also show the symbol for screen brightness on the keys in blue.)
It's hard to find a Compaq manual their site, but they indicate you'll find this in the help files on your computer. This is usually done with a combination of keys-look for the Fn key and a key that looks like a sun symbol. It may have an arrow pointing up or down. Use these keys together to change the brightness.
