SOURCE: Where can I get another

Hello
Silicon rubber belts for CD mechanisms can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town. It will come as kit form. You have to give them the exact model number of your Shaper Image device. Belts are shipped in packeges having the the model number of the device to which it is intedned to use. If not; you have to go with the belt of your device, as sample for its size. To replace the belt, you have to open your device and take out its mechanism. If you have enough knoledge and expereince, you can do it by yoursef at home. OK.

Hard to turn and fluid is black

You need fresh fluid for one thing, but you may be trying to turn parts which are worn out.

The pressure needs to be checked in the rack and pinion unit. If the rack and pinion are working properly, the Strut tower bearings are probably shot. The rods from the rack should be disconnected and each Strut checked separately.

You can also believe that Alignment plays a factor in steering effort. You model may need all four wheels aligned.

Motor runsbut drum very slow to spin in spin cycle

The motor could be on its last leg of working. You can also check to make sure that the belt is not binding against anything under the drum. You may also want to make sure that the conterbalance weight is not hitting the belt. Make sure that your machine is lever and that it does not walk during spining.

There is a small 1 1/2 inch O ring style belt that connects the motor to a set of gears. This belt is most likely broken and needs to be replaced.
