Question about Palit Microsystems GeForce 9600 GT, PCI Express Video Card

Twin dvi geforce 9600 gt 1gb - need installation instructions

I bought it second hand but with no manual or CD
It comes with a power lead which connects 2 standard 12v male sockets to a single connector which fits on the graphics card. Is there any reason I should not connect both power inputs to a single output with a splitter?
There is also a small soundcard? type twin core connector- What for?
I am unsure of the manufacturer- there is a pb monogram on the card and the fan is marked xpertvision. Any help with identification or installation would be gratefully received. Thanks

Ok well the soundcard is seperate - you can install it if you want but that would cut out room in the case as you have twin graphics cards going in... Main power lead to card should be an 8 pin connector - then they connect together using SLI joiner cable (joins the two cards together)
Minimum system power requirement is 400W Get your drivers from here http://www.geforce.com/drivers Hope this helps

SOURCE: Driver don't work with Palit 9600 GT 1GB

this can be an cooling issue with 2 graphics cards in your system or it could be caused by your SMPS, it should be 700w or above to handle such a system efficiently.

You might try setting the display adapter in the bios to PCI-X,
You could also try going into safe mode to see if you can install the new drivers and fix the problem.
Other than that you would need to stick the card in another computer and confirm whether it is functional.
I have the exact same card with Vista and had no issues, and have been very happy with it.

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

If you need a copy of the installation files for your inno3d GEForce 9600, all you have to do is to visit this link :

Driver Download-NVIDIA

You will then encounter this screen :

Make sure to choose your operating system and that all entries are correct, before clicking on "Search".  Afterwards, you can just choose download to get a copy of the installation files.  Wait for it to complete then, you can go to the folder where it was downloaded to run the installation.

I would highly recommend to restart your computer after completing the installation.

Hope this helps, Thank you for using FixYa.

Screen not starting after installing graphics card

Hi rohit1987,

The XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 256MB DDR3 PCI Express card uses two DVI ports on the back of the card. Display is most likely coming from the second port. Try moving your monitor cable to the next DVI port. You can do this while your system is running.
If you still do not receive display, post that here & we'll go over some other possibilities.

Good luck rohit1987!

Graphics card problem

I have the 9600 GT - great card. You have to plug a 6 pin power supply directly into card (on the right hand side when it's installed), it can go AGP or PCI express, but PCI is better. Also NVidia released a new driver for it yesterday (nov 20th) which fixed some bugs in mine (dreamscene WAS a problem for the old drivers), so get that from the Nvidia site- support tab (driver is version 180.48). Also, if the card is allowing you OS to boot it should be fine (if no boot, you prob need to get newer mobo). Uninstall your old drivers, run a reg cleaner, driver cleaner, manually delete c:\nvidia, non-windows defrag and chdsk.....If thats no help to you then I suggest you directly ask beni-muer or world-vet, they are absolutely 1000 more times knowledgable than me when it comes to these probs.. GOOD LUCK.

Choosing a GPU

SAPPHIRE 100256L Radeon HD 4670 1GB
  • Chipset Manufacturer: ATI
  • Core clock: 750MHz
  • Stream Processors: 320 Stream Processing Units
  • Memory Clock: 2000MHz
  • DirectX: DirectX 10.1
  • OpenGL: OpenGL 2.0
  • HDMI: 1 via Adapter
  • DVI: 2
Although it only has a 128bit memory interface it makes up for this by the large amount of stream processors and the high core clock. It's cheaper than the 9600 and better.
