Question about Frigidaire FAC107P1A Wall/Window Air Conditioner

1 Answer

My AC unit is blowing moist, not cold air...

I can't figure out why my AC unit it blowing moist/humid air. It feels like every few minutes it's actually blowing straight AC but for the most part it's very damp. I checked the filter the other day which was extremely dirty so I cleaned it, replaced it and now the "Check Filter" light is on. Help! I can't stand how humid my room is!!!

Windows fog up

There is too much moisture inside the cabin. Either something is leaking water into the car, or your fresh air setting is not working on the hvac system. You can not run the system on recirculate and get rid of the moisture.

My 2010 Chrysler 300's front side and rear windows fog up really bad when its cold outside

fogging up occurs when the water vapour ( Humidity) in the cab air hits the cold windows Remove the humidity by running the ac in conjunction with the heater . AC units to make the air feel cold by removing the humidity in the cab air allowing you to perspire more easily and you feel cooler. By running to two together ( climate control in some cars) the fog will quickly disappear.

Icing up windows

try running the ac as well as the heater. The ac removes the humidity (water vapour) in the air in the car which is causing the fogging up . Hot moist air on glass creates fog ( same as clouds). You will get a comfortable temperature inside without the fog

There is what appears to be "steam" blowing from my airconditioner into my room. What should I do?

Due to high humidity and perhaps, an air intake filter that needs to be removed and cleaned. That "steam" is actually a misty fog and is harmless. Window & Thru the Wall AC units often do this when the outside humidity and temperatures are high. Keeping the air intake filter clean will help to lessen this mist.

Hope this helped to allay your concern. Thanks fo choosing FixYa.

Why is mist blowing out of my window unit AC? it is odorless and still blowing cold air from one side. Its just like a mist but not wet.

nicki - That's normal. It happens when the humidity level is high. It's actually removing the humidity from your house. There's nothing to worry about, unless it's blowing into the house. In which case, turn the unit OFF and allow it to thaw. The humidity must be high enough to form ice crystals on the condensing coils. While the unit is OFF, remove the air intake filter and clean it. Make sure it's thoroughly dry, before reinstalling it.

That should solve take care of it.

Why doesnt my ac through cold air

mcdevito75 here, It could be 3 reasons, First the lower the outside humidity the less cool air your A/C will blow out, 2 Turn off your unit for 10 minutes and re-start with fan only for the first 3--4 minutes then adjust for A/C. 3 Your unit needs serviceing, Freon charge.
