Question about HTC Hero Smartphone

3 Answers

My htc hero phone's camera has a delay for about 2-3 seconds when taking a picture. I press the shutter button and 2-3 sec later the picture processes. By then the subject has moved so the delay causes missed photo opportunities. I figure this is a normal process for the phone, however is there anything I can do to eliminate the delay..... apps, settings, etc?

The easiest solution for your HTC Hero cell phone camera picture delay problem is to buy the fastest memory card you can and to set your phone to save to it (rather than the phones internal memory).

Also, to take a faster picture for free try this fix:
Alter the HTC Hero smart phone camera picture settings to take a smaller picture size through a lower 'quality' setting. There are so many megapixels in cameras now that the images take a lot of processing and storage space. You may find the LOW quality setting of your HTC Hero still takes a picture that looks great on a website or desktop, and do it very quickly.

I hope that helps.

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Actually the mobile you got is equipped with Google Android (An OS by Google). So there is a possibility that your mobile is running on low memory and causing delay. Try closing ?uninstalling all irrelevant/useless applications. It also happens due to software malfunction/firmware bugs...I would suggest you to Reset your mobile to factory settings, but before that I would suggest to backup all your important data (contacts, images, videos,applications,e.t.c.) before resetting your device...
To reset the Phone:
Press HOME > MENU, then tap Settings>Security>Factory data Reset.
On the factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone and then tap Erase everything.
If the problem still persists, I would suggest you to go for firmware update.

Best of Luck,

Please do RATE the solution, if found Helpful,

Concerned.

Using the self-timer
Use the self-timer when you want to be included in a picture, or to ensure a steady
Shutter button press. Place the camera on a tripod or flat surface.
1 In any picture-taking mode, press the Info button to turn on the shortcut icons.
2 Press to highlight the self-timer icon. Press to choose a setting:
10 seconds- A picture is taken after a 10-second delay (so you have time
to get into the scene).
2 seconds- A picture is taken after a 2-second delay (for a steady, shutter
release on a tripod).
2 shot- The first picture is taken after a 10-second delay. A second picture
is taken 8 seconds later.
3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.
The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay.
Use the same procedure to take a 2- or 10-second self-timer video, but press the
Shutter button completely down.

My kodak ezshare z740

Press the shutter button halfway to focus, then when the subject is in a pose you like press it fully to take the picture.  If you just press the button without stopping halfway, the camera needs to focus, that is most likely causing the delay.
