I have an Eclipse CD player in my car and I had the car battery replaced and I can't find the "security disc" I used for the re-startup process . . . is there a way to change the "security disc" to be used going forward?

Hello,You have to call Eclipse. The phone number should be on the top of the unit. They will make you register the CD player with them before they will give you the code to reset the player.
your key is the very first cd you put into it when you got it installed. If you don't have the key you can take it back to the stereo shop you bought it from you will be provided with the reset code.
wish you good luck,

take care.

How do I have to restart my eclipse avn52d car audio cd drive after I changed my car battery ?

You must be inside the Eclipse in order to unlock the radio's security system.
Insert the key in the ignition. Turn it clockwise one notch so some of the car's controls turn on, but not the ignition.
Press the radio's "On" and "Screen/Text" buttons at the same time and hold both down until "SEC" appears on the radio's screen. After two seconds, the screen will change to read "DISC."
Press the "Open" button on the front of the radio. The front panel should open it.
Insert the Key CD into the CD slot. The message "SEC" appears. You should have received this CD when purchasing the car. If you don't have this CD, contact your Eclipse retailer for an extra one.
Eject the Key CD by pressing the "Eject" button and close the front panel of the CD player.

No security code audio system

These units do not have a security code like some radios. Instead, they are coded using a CD. You insert a CD into the radio and it codes to that disc. You need that same CD if you ever want to unlock the player. If you don't have it, you are SOL. Eclipse is no longer in business and they were the only ones that could reset it. The system is known as "ESN Security".

ESN Security: This unit is equipped with the Eclipse Security Network. You can register a particular music CD as a "key" device which unlocks the security. If the registered CD is not detected, the navigation and audio functions will be disabled when the main unit is disconnected from and reconnected to the vehicle's battery.

Hi ! I have an Eclipse AVN 5495 on my car. The problem is that when i changed my battery the navi was stucked in check map. the radio and cd won't work .I can just eject cd .The display is stuck in...

You need to find a copy of the MDV-08D 2008 edition ver. 2.2 disc. It's a navigation updater for eclipse stereos. I just went through the same exact process as you and I'll give you my best recommendation as well. I live in Virginia and i found this guy in Washington state who has burnt copies for $75 bucks. Took a risk, and a week later received my disc in the mail. This is his email RDAWG146@yahoo.com He's a real nice guy and im 100% positive this will fix your problem AND save you $375 bucks. Good luck & god bless...pay it forward

Car batter died, CD player no longer plays.

you either need to find the first cd that was played in it, or call eclipse to see if they can help you. if the radio was stolen, chances are they will not help you.

Error

The manual states
1. " An (ERR_) message will appear, then change to a flashing (DISC), then the CD will be ejected."
You will have 5 uninterrupted attempts to insert the correct CD.
2. After the 5th incorrect attempt, the display reads (HELP)
3. If (HELP) appears on the display, press button (6), then the (FUNC) button, and hold them for 5 seconds.
4. Press the (FUNC) button. You will have 5 more attempts to insert the correct disc.
IF AFTER 10 TRIES, AND IF THE CORRECT KEY CD HAS NOT BEEN INSERTED, THE DISPLAY READS (CALL 800); THE UNIT MUST THEN BE RETURNED TO ECLIPSE TO BE RESET. CONTACT ECLIPSE DEALER OR CALL (800) 233-2216.
