Your best bet is to run service searches as you travel. See page 34 of your operating manual for specifics on how to do this.

You can also pre-program frequencies for the areas that you'll be passing through. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies by location, visit:

www.RadioReference.com

Need the manual for your scanner? you can download and print it here:

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

I need a frequencies for fire, police and all for Catawba county

Go to www.radioreference.com, when you get to the home page, click on the blue reference database tab in the middle of the page, then click on the state of NC on the map, then click on Catawba county on the next map, This will give you all of the freq's for catawba County. Now-Keep in mind that these are the old VHF dispatch freq's. Most everything in the county is now on the 800 mhz Viper system for operations. Look down at the bottom of the page and click on North Carolina VIPER and look through the info there. it's a very long list and I haven't look through all of it myself so I don't know what's all there.

Codes an freq for a radio shack pro51 hyper scan hamilton ohio

PRO51 can only do ANALOG scanning. You cannot get 'trunked radio systems in Butler County' however; there does appear to still be a few analog frequencies. Set up an account for Radio Reference dot com and you can go here and get it

Let me know how it goes, okay?

    How to listen to channels

Go here and you'll see a US map, (use link below)
    1. click on your state,
    2. then click on your county and it'll bring up a few links.
    3. One will be all emergency services,
    4. one will be schools in the area (or county) and might also be local business that are radio equipped.
    5. In addition you might get airport, and public utilities freq's. This link will take you to the largest site available for all things freq. related, amateur radio.
(I included a picture of the database site for any other people looking for freq's for their scanner. Straight up simple.)

I'm not sure what state those counties are for but here's a good starting point. Pick your state then pick your county and it'll bring up all the freq's assigned to your county, including businesses.

My midland wr-100 will not work when it is set for same . Do you enter the freq. Or the same code

Do you have your S.A.M.E set for "Single"? If you don't, set the setting for "Single" and punch in the S.A.M.E code for your county. If you've already done that, then the problem may be that you live in a county that has one S.A.M.E code and two frequency channels. What you need to do is try both frequency channels for your county (you can find this information at www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/indexnw.htm) and whichever one gives you the best reception, listen to that channel. Now keep in mind, the NWS have certain criterias for issuing a severe thunderstorm warning. To find out more info, go to http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lsx/?n=nwrfaq and look at FAQ #10. I hope this helps you with your problem.

    Programing scanner

Hi tina33, I have an 860 scanner, and this is how I do it. If there is no freq's in there yet, start on channel 1 and punch in the freq- hit E and it will enter it into the first channel. Hit manual to go to ch 2 and repeat. If you need freq's for your area, go here and search out your state and county and it'll give you a list of freq's for your county. You do not have to add the weather channels as their in there already, just hit the weather button. I use an external antenna on mine as it extends the range and allows me to pick up the cars as well.

If you need a book for your scanner, you can get one here, just print it out.
