Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

When someone sends me an email in "OutLook Express" with a huge font I cannot seem to change the size of the font to defauft smaller and so it can sometimes take 9 pages to print out a message. The same on my end. When I type out a message in OutLook the font will always default back to whatever OutLook has it set to, I can't seem to get it to permanently stay on a font size I choose. I can I fix this?

Thank you very much for the solution regarding composing new emails. We feel that this solution has solved this problem. However, this solution did not address the issue with incoming email. Can we look at that now?

Hi Jadonaho,

Thank you for contacting Fixya. This is Anil.

I understand that you need assistance in fixing the font size on Outlook Express. I will be glad to help you with it.

Jadonaho, I believe the settings might be incorrect on the Outlook Express. Please follow the steps below:
Open Outlook Express, then click on Tools> Options> Read> under that select the last option which says "Font" and change Font as per you desire & click on "Set as default", once you have finsihed with it, please select Compose> Under "Compose", you will see "Compse Font" and there will two options "Mail and News", now click on "Font settings" as choose the font as per you wish. Now try to access new mail or receive mail.

I believe the above resolution should resolve the issue, however, if you need anymore assistance, please feel free to contact us. We will be glad to help you.

Thank you. Have a Great Day.

Regards,
Anil.B.R

Anibr, I told you the wrong program when I aked my question. My email program is Microsoft Outlook 2000. I think the solution might be somewhat different from Outlook Express, as I don't have the options you described in your answer. I have Tools> Options>, but I don't have Read. Please tell me what to do in my program. Thank you for your prompt response.

Large file sent on Outlook Express immobilized my system

Hi

you should never even attempt to send such huge files, first of all that will take hours to send, and will most likely be rejected by the service, and as far as I know there is no email service that would allow to send such huge files, gmail, with the bigest storage I know, 7GB, has a 20MB limit on file sending.

You can't email that large file, burn it to a cd and mail it over.

Anything else?

Font size on email is too big, how to get it smaller

If you mean that when you write emails the font size is too big, you need to do the following in your email programme (I'm quoting Outlook):
Go to Tools, Options, Mail Format This will open a multi choice window.
Click on Fonts (under Mail Format)
This gives you the opportunity to change the font, the size etc.
Under 'When composing a new message' click on Choose Font. Change the size to something smaller 10 or 12pt are best.
Don't forget to click on OK at the bottom of the window.
Hope this helps.

If you are trying to print emails directly, you must change font size in Internet Explorer options for font size which controls email print size in Outlook Express. You may copy to a Word doc to control fonts there.
