Flashing Screen on Toshiba 52hm94

I got a Toshiba 52hm95 from a buddy for practically nothing the other day. He said there was an issue with it that appeared to be the lamp was going out. The screen is not very bright, and there is a white flickering that occurs, especially when the picture is dark or black. However I was playing around with the settings and turned the lamp mode from high bright to low power and all the color was distorted and mostly green. Does anyone know what this might be? Is there any way it is just the lamp or is it color wheel or something more serious. Is it worth fixing or should I haul it to the dump.

SOURCE: Red?Green picture

If you are connected to a HD cable box or sat. rcvr. using component cables, I would then suspect a loose or bad blue connection or cable. If you have Comcast and have their supplied flat component cable this is a common issue.

SOURCE: My set switches from low lamp to bright lamp on its own constantly

I just got mine back from the shop withe a similar issue. The picture would dim especially with dark scenes and you could actually hear the lamp popping and clicking. It was not consistent enough that I had to video tape the issue for the technicians. In short, they decided that the ballast was faulty, unfortunately, the only way to replace the ballast is to replace the entire light engine. The part is about $320 and they also replaced the lamp for $150. The extended warranty would have only covered parts I believe so you may have ended up OK.

SOURCE: Toshiba 65hx81 65" Rear Projection tv. black & white color/green

Yep, your problem is a relatively easy one to repair if you know how to solder. You better repair it before it blows the fuse though. There are two capacitors in the main power supply that are coming loose and need to be re soldered. There is a Toshiba service bulletin about it. They are marked C809 and C810 on the main power supply board. Good Luck

SOURCE: Toshiba TP50G50 Theaterview picture is double with red color only

Your alignment is off. Go to the set up menu then convergence. hit right and you will be in the convergence menu. select the color that is not in alignment. The green line does not move. if blue and green are lined up the line will be cyan. if red and green are lined up the line will be yellow. when all three are lined up the color will be light. Best of luck!

How long does it take to check for dead pixel for a TV?

A dead pixel s obvious as you are aware.
Toshiba have rules regarding the amount of pixels allowed before a replacement screen is issued. There is no time limit for checking a screen but normally a Toshiba Service Centre would look at the screen within a few days if not while you wait and make a decision.
It really depends if they are the seller or not. If they are the seller, they may kick their heels a bit as they have to do the work for nothing if under warranty.
Contact Toshiba and raise a complaint.

My tv isnt coming on. first it was a flashing blue light. Manual said it was the fan, checked and it's fine, now no led and no screen. Fan is still running though...

same TV same problem!! Only my LED is still on and flashing. The screen never actually turns on. I'm not sure if you tried to turn it off but I did and about 5 seconds later it will turn itself back on. Again, manual says it's the fan.. I popped the back open checked it and cleaned it but still nothing. Maybe trying to reboot but I left it on for 2 days straight and nothing came back to life. I just took it to a repair shop this weekend so I guess we will see! I will post any answer they give me!

Hello everybody. I'm having troubles with my laptop and I am really hoping to get a solution to my problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite A350 and have so for just over a year now. It has been working fine...

Unfortunately, you're only real option for an issue like this is to contact the manufacturer. You could have multiple issues going on causing this problem. It may be something to the effect of the connections between your monitor and your computer having a short. Or, it could be that one of the components in the computer is over heating or not receiving power correctly and not allowing your computer to post (boot up). With a hardware issue like this, the manufacturer is your best be to resolve it completely.
You can reach Toshiba support for computers at (800) 457-7777 (toll-free) or (949) 859-4273

A135-s2276 wont switch on

Try contacting Toshiba, as it may be some sort of a harware issue with the touch pad or currupted driver, as you said it worked for two years running XP.
Good Luck.

Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite R10 laptop with XP and I just Started having an issue where the screen randomly glitches up and either just goes blank or starts flashing different colors across the whole...

Probably a driver issue. Try Windows Update and select custom. Maybe there is an updated driver available, or there could be a driver conflict (wrong driver installed). At worst, it could be an issue with your screen itself or possibly even the motherboard. But I doubt it. If you can't find anything there, try http://www.toshiba.com

Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, Blown Fused F850+F852

Solved by resoldering some solder joints!!!!!!!
********
Toshiba Model 57H81 Rear Projection TV - Purchased 11-09-2001

Problem: Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, No Picture/Sound, Blown Fuses F850 + F852

Symptoms January, 2009:

  • Upon turning on set I got flashing red power light and nothing else.
  • Removing plug for one minute and plugging in results in:
    • Audible click, steady red power light for 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
    • Pushing power button results in steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light, no other set activity
  • Removing power cord for several hours and plugging back in made no change
    • Audible click, steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
  • Possible related note: Over past several months occasionally the entire screen would flicker momentarily and at other times be problem free for weeks.
  • Fuses F850 and F852 found blown

Repairs Made:
  • PD0074 DEF/CON Power Board
    • There are two main power supply capacitors in this set. They are C-809 and C-810. One their negative lead on the printed circuit board re-soldered leads and nearby contacts. I’m told that because the factory left out a printed circuit board eyelet, the connection will come loose over time. When I called Toshiba customer service they said there was a known solder joint problem causing blinking red light.
    • Replaced blown fuses F850 and F852.
      • I actually installed a fuse panel on the inside of the cabinet and routed the fuse connections here instead of ordering the special fuses and replacing them on the circuit board.
      • Had to use a 5 Amp SLO-BLOW for F850. Fast blow does not survive power up. Get the red blinking light.
      • Used a fast blow 2 Amp for F852.
  • PD0073 SIGNAL Board
    • Re-soldered Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps
    • Re-soldered adjacent pads that looks suspicious

Total Cost to Repair about $10
  • Twelve hours of my time over three days to research issue, disassemble set, make repairs, add fuse panel.
  • Already owned Service Manual and Circuit diagrams from a different 2004 repair.
  • Less than ten dollars at Radio Shack for fuses and fuse panel. Already had wires, etc.
  • Some solder. Already owned de-soldering tools, etc.
  • Visited both local authorized Toshiba factory service repair facilities. One said repair would have to include replacing Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps with ST392-180, and realigning set for a total of $500+ and it would be more if they had to order a power board. NO THANK YOU! Other shop said $65 for site visit and $30 to make an estimate that could be applied to repair.
