There are few procedures that you will have to try to set the timer. 1) pull the crown to stop the SECOND HAND at the 12 "o" clock position. 2)Now turn the crown to set the time exact. 3)When you set the time.Set the minute hand 4 to 5 minute ahead, then return to the correct time. Then only it will get set. 4)Push the crown back in to position 1 in accordance with the time signal. for more detailed help please click on the link directly :-- http://www.alessi-watches.com/eg/pdf/VD54-VD57-VD67_1_eg.pdf -------- for more click this link http://chronomaddox.com/tudor/manuals/tiger_red_cover/740w/page_06.jpg also check this link if the above model of watch is different from yours http://www.chronomaddox.com/tudor/manuals/tiger_red_cover/tudor_manual.html ---------- for complete guide please check out this link http://www.docstoc.com/docs/19528252/ESQ-09-200_Aston-Operating-Instructions ---------- as the model number provided by you is actually not the model number so the link has been provided .please check all the links one by one.all are for chronograph watch.so it will help you to reset the timer. Bulova 96R31 keeps time + date, but the chronograph does not work

The problem is in chronograph module or related gear train. To find what exactly the problem is, special tools and equipment is needed as well as watchmakers knowledge and skill. There may be just an underpowered battery, but according to your explanation, I tend to think that the first causes mentioned by me are the right ones. Visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask to check your watch for any faults. Rate me, please.

The chronograph will only run for 59 minutes 59.95 seconds.

If you do not have a set on instructions for your watch, you can find one on their web site (citizen.com)

When there, click on "technical support" and the on "setting instructions" and fill in the number off the back of your watch.

The timer on Pulsar watch does not line up at 12 when reset.

To set the timer hand on these models of Pulsar watches, do the following:
Looking at the face of the watch, there are two buttons and a crown on the right side. The TOP button is Button "A". - The BOTTOM button is Button "B".
There are 3 positions on the crown: IN (#1), FIRST CLICK (#2) & SECOND CLICK (#3).
First, pull the crown out to the second 'click' position (#3) ... This is all the way out. (STOP THERE! Pulling harder will harm your watch! Don't try to pull past position #3!)
Push and hold Button "A" for two (2) seconds. The dial will sweep around to the 12 O'clock position. You can advance the timer while the crown is in position #3 (second click out) to reset it back to the default position.
The manual says that if you pull the crown out to position #3 while the timer is measuring, the hand will reset back to the 12 o'clock position... I haven't tried that, so I can't confirm.

Using the stop watch feature

Dennis,
"Chronograph" is watch terminology for 'stop-watch'.
There are 3 small dials on the watch.  The main dial has a minute hand and an hour hand.  The big second hand on the main dial is not for the main time of the watch.  It is for measuring seconds for the stopwatch.
The 2 small dials at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock will give you minutes and 1/10 of a seconds.
There are 2 buttons on the side of the watch. Top Button:  Start/Stop Bottom Button: Reset
To set the chronograph to its default position, you would pull out the stem to the first position and push the buttons.  Also, pull the stem out further to the 2nd position and push the buttons.

Seiko chronograph alarm

Solution #3 (Posted by Guest on 5 Mar 08) is spot on. Quick and easy method to reset the chrono hands (it was not in my Seiko manual).
Interestingly, this can also be used to set the chrono ahead (or behind--with a little math) for offset timing measurements.

Chronograph hand not resetting to 12 o'clock

for my victorinox, the crown out one position and the reset button (lower chronograph button) changes the minute hand and the top (start/stop button) does the 10th's of a second...crown all the way out and top (start/stop button) does 30 second intervals for the minute counter.
