Hi,

First thing to do is get the top off which can be easier said than done. The printer has four screws holding the top. After that remove the control panel by undoing the four screws holding it in place. This isn't strictly necessary but it makes life easier. Now move the print head to the left. To do this you have to lower a locking bar that is located at the base of the head. The head can be quite hard to move but it does slide left. Under the print heads you will find two pads of hard foam. These collect the ink when you perform a normal head clean and keep the print head moist. Soak these with water . Pool water on them and let it run through (it goes through to a large pad at the bottom of the machine by the way). Fold some tissue and lay it on the base when the heads pass over. Push the head back and forth over the tissue to clean the actual head. The tissue will come out covered in ink.Now for the tricky part get an old printer cartridge and remove the label on top that says "do not remove". Under the label you will find a couple of holes. Widen them / open them with a drill bit about 3 mm is good. Fill the cartridge with water and put it in the printer. Push the heads back over to the right as far as they will go. This will cause the sponges to come right up against the heads. Leave the set up over night. In the morning test the printer. Run a couple of head cleans with the cleaning cartridge in. Your problem is solved now

Printhead Loose or missing. Install printhead or ink cartridges.

THE PRINT HEAD is the LASER that puts the image on the drum which puts the image on the transfer belt then paper or the drum puts on the paper. Missing the Print Head !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did you get it second hand? Not something you can get at a store. Contact the company and see about it being repaired.

Why is print head loose or missing?

The print head houses the printer LASER if it is missing NO Printing. OR Loose normally the print head is located well inside the machine so you cant see the LASER beam when it is working.

Take the machine back to who sold it if the LASER ?PRINT HEAD is missing

I have changed out my black ink cartridge and now it says Attention: Print head loose, missing or not installed correctly.

Had exactly the same issue - working fine until ink cartridge changed (kodak for kodak - not a copy). Then can only get 'print head error message'.
Multiple attempts to remove and re-install, power on/off etc. but can't shift the error message. New print head more expensive than a new printer!

I have an ESP2150 with an error message of printhead loose or missing. I checked print cartridges, I replaced print cartridges, I re-installed software and drivers.....I still receive the same error...

Hello,
Unfortunately, trying to diagnose a printer without actually looking at the printer is a little like trying to diagnose a car engine over the phone. But, from the sound of it, the problem you are having is not exactly pertaining to the print "cartridges" but the print "head" which is the part of the printer that actually introduces the ink to the paper, and is actually part of the tray the ink cartridges fit into. Here is a picture of it:

This print head is able to be removed and replaced if needed. It may be something as trivial as being loose. You can remove it from the printer and reinstall it to make sure it is seated correctly. Here is a link for instructions on Kodak's website on how to uninstall and replace the print head:
Installing and replacing print head.

If the print head is either damaged or worn out (which can happen) you can replace the print head, which I just did a search online for one and it appears the print head is only around $35.00 to replace it. Here is a link to where I found a replacement print head:
Kodak Print Head Replacement for ESP2150

I hope this helps.

Epson pm235 printing problem one colour is mising .. cloged head... or cartridge assembly.

if saying color is missing will more than likely have to put in a new or partialy used cartridge for that color - you could try and run any options you may have for cleaning heads/nozzle checks and printing reports to see quality of the printing

Kodak 5500 printer can't detect print head

open the cover and take out the printheads and clean the contact points. also clean the contact points on the printer.
reinstall it and see what it does, also try turning the printer off and on /
if this does not work you need a new printer /the printer hardware is bad for sure if you have already replaced the printhead and catridge .

if printer is in warranty ask for a replacement
