I am a master electrician with 37 years in the field and have a problem with my own home standby 7kw Briggs-CH generator. We had a power failure last night and the generator started but shutdown after transfer, it is indicating low frequency. Where do I go from here? When it was in warranty the factory repaired some diodes but it has been trouble free since then (2006). We have installed quite a few of these but have never been into the service side. Brian

If this is the only circuit not resetting, and no other section of the home is on this circuit, it is possible that the circuit is defective due to the storm or sometype nof overload on that circuit. However, if you remove the circuit, look at the bus where the breaker was attached and see if it is pitted. Also check if the breaker is fitting securely and not moving. If this does not solve the problem, there is possibly a wire that has come apart, in which case the circuit has to be traced from the panel to the master bedroom.
You should have power in the room however, as the overhead lighting and the outlet circuit around the wall is usually separated. So there shoulde be some power in the room. If not more than one circuit is out and in which case you may have to enlist an electrician.
Hope this have helped you with your problem.
