Question about PC Desktops

If I try to download new software from dell it asks me for a service tag and i put it in and it says not bought in the usa

For over two months now i have been on the phone with dell and best buy trying to figure out why the service tag is not recognized. When i try to put the service tag in it says not bought in the united states how can i rememdy that problem thanks taunya thompson

Go to the http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/ProductSelector and put in your service tag. You can download the drivers for free. Don't use one of these driver programs. They are just spam trying to get you to buy something.

What is a Dell service tag?


When you buy a new computer from Dell, it comes with a service tag affixed to it. The service tag is a barcoded sticker put on the computer's case that makes your specific computer easily identifiable by Dell for repair, service, or support purposes. If you go to the Dell website (Support.Dell.com) and enter your service tag, you can view a list of drivers for your computer, so you can see at a glance if any of your current drivers are out of date and easily download any updates. You can also see your computer's specs and other details.

On a desktop computer, the Dell service tag is typically located on the back of the computer. On a laptop, it's probably on the bottom. It is a rectangular white sticker with a short barcode and a mix of five to seven letters and numbers underneath the barcode. Depending on your system and how it was set up, you may also be able to find your service tag number through your computer's setup utility. (If you have an OptiPlex GX280, for example, the service tag can often be viewed in the CMOS settings.)

In addition to computers, Dell also affixes service tags to their other products, including routers, TVs, and printers. Knowing your service tag number can make using Dell's online or phone support much easier. It's a good idea to write the service tag number down somewhere or store it in a file, in case the sticker peels off one day.

Follow this link to Dell's Support page.

Enter your system's Service Tag , usually found on the back or bottom of the device on a white label. This alpha-numeric identifier is usually 5-6 characters long.

Using your service tag to identify your unit, insures you get the best driver list for the your unit

If you cannot find the service tag, then try this link to the general support page for the E521.

There will likely be a lot more drivers listed using the above link, so picking the correct driver out of a larger collection may be more challenging if you do not know the exact device type you have.

Dell smps ps-5141-2d pin layout


145 watt smps was shipped in very very old computers, its not manufactured any more. how ever you may still want to try for best buy. 1% chance you may get it. i searched everywhere its images are not avilable. the pin layout inside and outside is the same. as in 180 or 200 watt smps. repairing is not a good option. get it replaced if its okay with you. please tell me the system model number or service tag so i can look for alternative smps for your computer. thanks.

On the back of your dell is a service tag. Copy it down and go to ww.dell.com and Support and drivers, input your service tag and it will give you the original configuration of hardware and software installed on your computer.

Dell's web-site has a "automatically detect my system" which will determine the Dell Service Tag, and display it. Or, start your computer, and enter BIOS SETUP. Browse through the various menu items, and the Dell Service Tag will be displayed.

Warranty


All Dell computers have information a Service Tag on the back of the unit (or bottom if it is a laptop). This Service Tag number can be entered into the Warranty Information Center on Dell's website to determine eligibility.

Dell Dimension E510 memory upgrade


Please check the type of RAM you are using.
You must return it to BestBuy and try using a Dell store.
Call Dell Accessories sale and they will be able to give to better options and it wud work too.
