Question about Toshiba Tecra TE-2100 Notebook

Won't Start Up

Seems to be a power problem. When it is initially plugged in the AC light comes up green, with the battery light Orange. After the power button is pressed it tries to go through start up [at times] but does not complete. The AC light then flasses Orange -8 times then pauses then repeats the 8 flashes over and over with no battery light at all..

SOURCE: wont turn on

Hi,

you have one of 3 things wrong here.

1:) the battery is dead, and needs to be replaced ( suggest e-bay china seller for cheapest )
2:) the AC adaptor or dc socket on the motherboard is Faulty.
3:) motherboard fault, regarding charging circuit board.

Go for the most cost effective option First. New Battery. Then AC Adaptor. Finally would be motherboard replacement.

The flashing light on the front of your laptop is a low battery warning. There probably isn't enough power in the battery to turn on the laptop. You need to plug in the ac power adaptor and let the battery charge until the battery light turns from 'orange', to 'green'.
