Does the indoor unit run?

It sounds like you're looking in the right place. Check your power panel for a tripped circuit breaker (maybe more than one) or if the home is older, it may have fuses. It's possible that the outdoor disconnect also has fuses but that's not as likely. You can check around the outdoor unit and see if you smell anything burnt.

You can aso turn off the unit at the thermostat, wait a few minutes and see if the unit starts back up, but check the items listed above first.

There should be a disconnect outside near the outdoor unit. Check it for a tripped breaker or blown fuse. Look at the circuit board in the outside unit for a small fuse. At the thermostat, take the fan switch from auto to run. This will check the transformer. If the fan runs the transformer is ok. If it doesn't then check the transformer. Let me know what you find and we can go further from there.

I have a Goodman AC unit that isn't working. I believe its the fuse. My power went out and the ac unit stopped working. the first time the repair guy said it was the fuse. I don't want to spend...

Generally, the fuses are located in a box outside by the outdoor unit. The box has a door on it and you will probably have to pull a cartridge out and the fuses will be behind the cartridge. If you don't have an ohm meter to check the fuses , just go to home depot, lowes or another hardware store where they can check them for you. Be sure to check the circuit breakers too.

Location of overvoltage protection

Go outside to the condensor, its unlikely that the fuses are there unless it is an older unit. Turn off the power and open the power disconnect box. That is one place the fuses or breaker could be.

In the house you should have an electrical panel usually grey in color. Open the service panel as it should be hinged. Most of the time the fuse or breaker is labeled AC Unit andThe rating should be
anywhere between 25amps-60amps.

Where is fuse located on goodman ckl60-1 ac unit?

I'd be surprised if you had a fuse in either the outside or inside unit. Typically the fuse(s) are mounted in a gray electrical box (on the house) near the outside unit.

You can usually - easily see the fuse box but if you don't just follow the electrical conduit from the outside unit - to the fuse box.

good luck!

Unit will Not turn on

Hello. There is usually a separate circuit breaker in an electrical box near the outdoor component. Chances are it was turned off at that location for the winter. Joe

AC roof unit stops cooling after rain

No, the units are sealed and the rain should not have affected the system at all. I would remove the outer cover of the unit and access the capacitors. Your start capacitor may be bad. You can visually inspect this and tell if there is a problem. Small black relay on top of capacitor often burns out, if so, replace capacitor and relay. If this looks fine, then we need to start at the thermostat and work our way forward.

Thanks,

Jeff

Goodman air conditioner will not turn on outside

When ever you hear a buzzing like you are hearing means one thing one of the fuses on the outside disconnect box is bad. Only getting 1/2 the power. Find the bad fuse and get the same size and will be good to go. ken

Fan runs but blowing hot air. Thunderstorm reset some breakers. I did reset the two breakers inside the house and one unit working fine, upstairs unit fan running but blowing warm air only. Box out

Sounds like your Capacitor is bad, or you had a wire burn off compressor terminal or capacitor. Way you can check capacitor is take cover off and see if looks swollen. Make sure to turn off power before taking panel off.

Goodman Furnace/AC unit not working 3a fuse blows even after replacement. once thermostat is turned on and clicks to start ac unit the fuse blows

3 amp is standard.the fuse is blowing to protect the transformer. It is telling you that there is a short in the low voltage wiring.Goodman also had an issue with the coil shorting on the contactor. To prevent damage.....i'd call a pro.It should be a fairly simple repair.
