Question about Cub Cadet Street Sign- tractor lawn riding mower parts

I have a cub cadet model 18m walk behind mower. it has been running fine but the automatic throttle is not working so the motor is at a low idle. ansugestions . i have checked the plug and air filter they are ok I can rev the motor but hand with the govenor. please help the grass is getting out of control

what you have done is sheared the flywheel pin top of eng pull fly wheel you will find a schered pin go to lawnmower shop possible with pin get replacement just a few dollars you be back in timing and back to work let me know if you need a walk thru sparks

My 2166 Cub Cadet pops and backfires at high rpm.


try replacing the air filter first or check it with the filter off, you may only need a new filter. if not get a mower or bike shop to test the coil they will let you which one to buy

The heat shield tends to vibrate in resonance with the engine vibration; this vibration eroded the gasket between the heat shield and the carburetor mounting flange to allow ambient air to enter into the gas/air flow into the intake side of the engine. This extra air “leaned-out” the gas/air mixture causing the engine to die.
