Question about Crane Hello Kitty Humidifier

1 Answer

On/Off function I've just purchased the Hello Kitty humidifier for our 4-yr. daughter 3 days ago and it works great, BUT if the dial is turned to off, the motor is still running (no steam comes out). I feel uneasy leaving the humidifier running 24/7 and so I unplug it in the morning. Did I buy one that has a malfunction or is it suppose to run all the time, even in the off position? I was looking for an actual on/off switch like the Crane Elephant had, but there is none.

The kitty will turn off if you rotate the dail all the way to off (straight up). Look at the pink arrow on the dial. You will feel that the knob does not want to go any further when you are at "on" which is the lowest setting and no steam comes out. But you have to go all the way to off.
The elephant and frog models have actual on/off switches but this one its just the dail.

Lights on but no fan, no mist

"Take the humidistat out of the humidifier and look for the 3 slits below the restart button, take a hair dryer and send some warm air into those slits for 5 minutes. That usually recalibrates the humidifier."

I bought the humidifier and my daughter switched the knob to reset now the know will not move off reset. How do i fix this?

Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 10 minutes. Plug the unit back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and if the unit reset itself like it should have, it should function properly.

Hope this helped to solve the problem. Please let me know. And Happy upcoming Mother's Day!

Output/Fan will not turn no matter what setting the speed control dial is on. Blue light and green light go on when humistat knob is turned. I purchased this humidifier in November and it was working...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

You either have a defective power switch, or defective motor, your unit is under warrenty, so I suggest you return it..

Hello! Humidifier quit working. Turned dial to test and nothing. Usually I hear the humidifier working if I increase the dial to a higher level but nothing. Could it be the solonoid is gone? Thanks!

if you hear a "click" at the unit when you increase the demand for humidity it could be a clogged solenoid valve. If you heart nothing this could indicate a power problem. turn the humidistat to the highest setting and verify the proper voltage is available at the solenoid, if so, the solenoid needs to be replace. hope this helps.

Hi, We just purchased a vicks warm mist humidifier. We used it for two nights in my daughter's bedroom...we then noticed a sticky residue over sections of the wall as well as crackling paint? Is this...

is it possible that you have the mist turned up too high? If the room is very small, the high setting could be providing too much humidity to the room. I'm thinking that the paint crackled as the humidity climbed.

I have had my Hello Kitty Humidifier about a year and a half. I have been very pleased, but yesterday it stopped working. It puts out steam, but not enough to make it out the top. It kind of bubbles down...

sounds like the fan in the bottom does not have enough space. make sure the humidifer is on a flat hard surface. If its on carpet or other soft surface the fan can't push air out and the vapor won't come out.

Very little water left/ fills up and leaks

**With the unit unplugged**
the float sensor is probably getting sticky with residue and buildup (lime, grime, etc). Try cleaning the little float and that area. It should move easily when clean.
