Question about Fujitsu fi-5120C

1 Answer

We are not able to get our Fujitsu fi-5120C out of status 8. We've turned it on/off unplugged it changed one of the pads (as it was bent). We left it alone for a day and it's still not working. Do you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoote this?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting FixYa.

Please clarify if the error is E8 or some different error. E8 error indicates that SCSI fuse is blown. When 5V, 3.3V fuse is blown, the scanner does not turn on and E8 error is displayed. Check the SCSI fuse status. The SCSI fuse is located in the Control PCA marked as TH2. This alarm is detected during initial processing immediately after power-on.

Probable causes:
- Defective SCSI cable. #Check the SCSI cable status.
- Other SCSI device malfunction. #Check the SCSI device.

1. Does the same symptom occur after turning OFF and ON the scanner?
To check, press power button of the scanner for more than 2 seconds to turn it OFF, and after more than 2 seconds elapse, press the power button to turn the scanner ON.

2. Check if the SCSI cable or other SCSI devices connected to the scanner cause this error. The scanner can work even after this error occurs. However, to remove this error you may have to replace the Control PCA.

Hope the above information will be helpful.

Please revert if you have further queries.

Thanks & regards,

TechSatya

Fujitsu fi5120c scanning every other page

hi, it sounds like the scanner is multifeeding, and as you have it set to A4 once that length is scanned, its just getting rid of the rest and starting the new page. Try cleaning or replacing the separation pad, or to prove the fault, hold the 2nd sheet until the 1st is scanned and its trying to pick thyen 2nd.

hope that helps, let me know how you get on.

Fi 5120c scanner - Vertical Line left of Center

It is the GLASS. Line up your paper to see where the lines came from (check front side and back side). Open the scanner by pushing the Blue Button on the right. Look for the glasses at the bottom of the scanner at the spots making the lines. Clean it and re-scan.

Is a brake roller the same as a pick roller?

Hi Tracy,
The brake roller is diffrent from the pick roller in all models. However, in Fujitsu fi-5120c, there is no brake roller, only Pad Assy and Pick roller are present.
