Question about Timex Expedition 84601 Wristwatch

1 Answer

I have a Timex Expedition Analog/Digital. Just replaced the battery. When I first installed the battery and replaced the cover, the watch was beeping steadily and all the digital bars were illuminated and the hands weren't moving. I took out the battery and replaced it exactly the same way and this time the hands worked but the digital face does not, nor does the light. Is there some sort of reset function or something internally that I might have touched that would affect the digital operation?

You need to make an electrical connection between the battery and the round silver pad next to the battery. This resets the watch.

Back has NO screws. How do I easily remove it to replace the two batteries?

Hi, You may know that this watch runs on two batteries, one for digital display and another for analog hands.
If the analog hands stop working all you need to do is to replace the battery and please replace both at the same time since the band and cover take some effort to remove.
You need to take off the both bands first to access the back side than the back cover with a small knife..
Just in case,if you need the user manual here is the link.

Take care..

How do you replace the back cover on a Timex expedition analog wrist watch

mcdevito75 here, Look for any indentations on the back cover and case that should be linned up, as an example, a cutout on the cover for the stem, after the cover is linned up place the watch on a sturdy surface crystal up (glass) and with the palm of your hand apply even down pressure to close the back. If you can"t look for a small watch repair shop, they will close the back cover for you.

No beep, no alarm, no sound at all after battery replacement and after resetting the watch. The watch is the Expedition.

I think you put case back wrong way ,, or a small spring which connect caseback with watch movement feil during battery change that also ma be a issue.

How to replace battery for Timex expedition

Remove the four screws that hold the battery cover on the back of the watch. Remove the 3 very small screws that hold the battery in place. Remove the battery from the battery holder. The piece that the 3 small screws were removed from seperates from the 3 volt 2016 energizer battery. Replace the battery with a new one. Re-install the battery holder to the watch. There is a small tab on the lower left part of the battery holder that needs to be depressed to activate the watch. Depress it and look at the face of the watch to make sure it is activated. The watch will need to have the time, date etc reset but you should now be able to see that the battery is working. Replace the battery cover and reset the time and date as needed.
