I have the same projector with the same problem. I just purchased a replacement lamp - at $350 bucks - and that's not the problem. I opened up the projector and found some broken glass - not from the lamp. It seems that there is a component that spins rapidly with some kind of glass lens or something. This glass part is broken and when it spins it makes a loud humming noise. I contacted the company and am waiting for an answer.

Hi WITT

This sounds like a Ballast problem - (lamp's powersupply)

This would need replacement , rather than repair as repairs to a Ballast almost always has a come back problem a couple of months down the line.

I can't figure out what is wrong with my Hitachi CP-X605 projector.

The ballast (which provides power for the lamp) might have gone bad. Check the voltage its outputting with a digital multimeter.

My PT-LB10SVU projector quit working and I thought it was the bulb so I installed a new one but it still does not work (no light), what do you think it is or where can I send for repairs, I live in Surrey,...

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. After changing the bulb and still won't work it can be that the problem is with the either the parts of the board or the mainboard itself. You can send it to repair to check which part needs to be replaced.

PROBLEM :-The power supply of the projector is faulty there is a transistor witch is switch 15 volts for the lamp drive board.

SOLUTION: Remove the upper cover with 6 screws back side of the projector.
remove main board and lamp cover with 7 screws.(show in the picture)
remove upper cover of the power supply and lamp drive unit with 3 screws.
remove power supply unit with 4 screws and 3 connectors and put face down on the table.
now you find the transistor no Q107 and replace with the transistor no 2SB710 is and surface mounted compunent(show in the picture)
fix it all as you open.
power ON the projector and enjoy

(doing very carefully This is a technical job)

After a few seconds the lamp light began to blink red, its a panasonic pt-lb10svu, show no pic at all has a new lamp

Hi, Replacing the lamp in a Sharp LCD projector requires the lamp indicator to be reset. When the lamp needs to be replaced, the indicator becomes red. Resetting the counter for the lamp hours to zero will also reset the indicator to green.
  • Attach the power cord to the projector and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  • Step 2Locate the buttons on the top of the projector and simultaneously hold down the "Enter", "Menu" and "down arrow" buttons, then press the "Standby/On" button.
  • Step 3Continue holding all four buttons depressed until the lamp indicator light begins flashing green. The counter is now reset. Zero hours will now be displayed on the screen.

The change filter light keeps coming on

In the manual, it says you have to go in the menu to the OPTION submenu. Go down to FILTER TIME and hold the right arrow down for 3 seconds. It will then go into a mini-submenu that, when you press the up arrow, will reset the filter time to 0. The key is to hold down the right arrow initially for THREE+ SECONDS to get into the reset filter time menu. This is NOT the submenu that has RESET - EXECUTE. That is a different thing that doesn't reset filter & lamp time.

Did you clean the air filter? You should vacuum it or use an air dusting can to clean it out.

Hitachi cp-s235 projector- red lights and projector turns off

There is a small tab on the lamp cover that should press into an "L" shaped slot on the lamp housing. This tab may break off, and not press into slot far enough to make the lamp dectection switch click. When the lamp heats up, the plastics expand and the detection switch opens. The projector quits as if no lamp is installed. The fix is to make an extension for the tab. I cut a small piece of sheet metal and crazy-glued it to what was left of the plasic tab.
