Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies
When you scan a document and save it, by default, it's saved into your "My Documents" folder with a sub-folder name "My Scan". If you've changed it, you will see it when you are about the save the scanned file. If you have problem and haven't changed anything with the destination folder, search "My scan" folder, it'll come out immediately.
To scan a document and directly send to email, you need to have set-up the outlook express or microsoft outlook account correctly. If you have another email program, you have to do the same with it.
If you haven't installed all the printer's softwares and drivers, please do it now. You might be asked to reboot your system.
Check whether your printer's software include an application with the name "PaperPort", if so, that's the easiest way to scan and directly send the file to e-mail.
To do this, double-click the "PaperPort" icon and scan the document using the scan button or from the menu. Once the scan is completed, the thumbnail of that scanned document will appear on the "PaperPort" windows. You'll also see several e-mail application icons on the status bar or as buttons.
Select the scanned document, right-click on the preferred e-mail program and select "Send to Options", now select the file format type you would like to send your scanned document, drag the document you want to send to the "Send To" bar. [You can also drag multiple documents after selecting them.] As soon as you drop the dragging files, a new windows of the email program will pop up with the scanned documents as "attached" . It's your turn to configure/modify the email to be sent, like you can add the email address, subject line, etc.. then send the email.
On the other hand, most hp softwares have scan to email feature included with them. If it's available with the software you have installed, a link labelled as "E-mail" is viewable as soon as you open the "hp scan utilities". The steps are more or less similar with the "PaperPort".
If you have problem doing these, let me know.
Thanks for using FixYa.
