I am trying to disconnect the alarm so it doesn't keep going off while I disconnect my battery to put in a new one. I also don't want it to lock me out of starting the car once the new battery is in.

1994 toyata camry the alarm goes off and will not let me start the car.

factory security does not have toggle switches as far as I know so it is probably an aftermarket system. Try one of two things, turn the toggle switch the oposite direction with battery disconnected. Reconnect the battery and try again, the horn will beep a few times when you reconnect. try starting. If that doesn't work, disconnect the battery and turn the key to the on position and reconnect the battery and the horn will sound but will go off get in the car and try to start. It should start and run normally. shut car off, then you should be able to return the toggle switch to the previous position If this happens again turn the toggle switch to the opposite position with the batterry disconnected and turn the key switch to the on position and reconnect the battery and start when started go see a service that installs aftermarket systems and they should be able to reset it security system Hope this helps

the easiest way might be to use a set of jump start leads & connect them to the new battery, then to the battery leads of the old battery before you disconnect them from the old battery, then remove the old battery & fit the new one being careful not to dislodge the jump leads then put the battery leads on the new battery.....hope this helps......cheers.

My 99 honda prelude i just put in new battery. now the alarm keeps going off and car wont start. i have tried to turn the alarm off using the button on the car key chain but it wont turn the alarm off

You should be able to turn off the alarm by closing the driver's side door, insert the key and unlock the door. If this doesn't work, try the passenger's side door or trunk.

I accidentally locked myself out of my Smarthhome Securelinc Alarm Installer Code Model OH-41073AT. I would like to reset the unit to my installer code or create a new one. Can you assist?

The first thing to try would be to disconnect the mains supply and remove the internal battery for a minimum of 5 minutes and then reconnect it.

If this doesn't reset the system then remove the mains supply and battery again for another 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes reconnect the battery.

Then with the help of a friend try holding the # & * keys while they turn the mains supply back on.

These are generic resets for most house alarms but I'll keep looking if there's a specific one for your system so if neither of these work just let me know.

If I find anything else in the mean time I'll add to this post.

We lost the remolt control and now the alarm is going off, ihad to disconnect the battery, now every time i connect the battery the alarm is going off

You need to find the remote. Once you do,you can use it to turn off the alarm by pressing the unlock button. You can also try pressing the unlock button on the door panel but, I don't know if that will work. You might have to have another remote programed for the vehicle. You can also try putting the key in the door lock and unlocking it.

Disconnecting the car battery will reset the alarm system. When you first connect the car battery, the alarm will sound briefly, then stop. You will have to retrain the alarm system to recognize your remotes. The procedure for that varies from one year model to the other. On my 1998 you do it by putting the key in the door lock and holding it full counterclockwise until you hear a brief beep from the alarm horn. Then press a button on your remote and the system will learn to recognize that remote.
