I purchased a new handle. The going price was in the 45 dollar range. To fix the handle the entire door must be removed I was told and the fix is difficult for an amateur. The costs for installation ranged from 57 dollars and as high as 130 dollars.

I was told yo let a professional do the job. You would think Maytag could make a handle that would be easier to replace. Thanks for the help.

I believe your model number is actually MER5755QAQ. I could not find anything with the model number you provided. This is a Maytage range, correct? If you go to or, and type in the model number of your range, you can find a complete listing of parts available for your range. Both websites offer competitive pricing and can ship the part directly to you. The Sears website has some illustrated drawings of your range to make part location much easier. If you are talking about one of the control knobs, they are easily replaced and cost less than $10. Please post back and let me know if this is what you are looking for.

My oven does not work how to troubleshoot

Hi well first you need to obtain a service manual, in there are all the steps required to locate and troubleshoot a unit, without one it's a VERY hard job, if not impossible? Usually the cheapest option in the end is to get a "Quote" from a professional.
This link below is real helpful with DIY.

I have the pet lovers upright eureka boss. When I bought it it had been returned and the manual was gone. I need one for myself /I am trying to figure out how to get to the belt under the top

The Boss SmartVac Pet Lover's vacuum manual is available near the bottom on the left of the product page here: . A quick start guide is also available. The direct link to the manual is .

To access the belt, lower the handle to the floor and then turn the vacuum over. You need to remove 3 screws to remove the bottom plate. The screws are in the front corners (at the brush roll) and just inside one of the back wheels (on the left if looking in front of the brush roll). See figure 3 of the manual (page 4 or page 6 of the pdf). Then the plate should lift off (you pull the back side up and then pull the entire base forward). Remove the brush roll and the belt. Lift the side without the belt first. Then slide the new belt onto the motor shaft and the brush roll. Insert the left side of the brush roll into the vacuum then insert the right side making sure that the end cap fits into the base. Turn the brush roll a couple of turns to center the belt on the unit. Then line up tabs on the base with the vacuum and rotate the base into position. Reinstall the screws and turn the vacuum right side up. Then lift the handle before vacuuming unless you are going to vacuum under some furniture.

I hope this helps.

Oven door handle broke and needs to be replaced

I can offer some generic help that may get you going in the right direction. First determine if the door has to be removed to gain access to the handle screws. Usually the inner door shell is held to the outer door shell with screws. If you can unscrew the shell without removing the door..good. If you have to remove the door, open it to the horizintal position, and look at the hinges. There should be a tab along the hinge. Some can be operated with the hinge in the horizontal position, and some require the door to be at arounr a 30 degree angle or so. Flip the levers and lift the door off the hinges. Depending on how particulea you are, you can effect a repair to the handle without removal, if you have all of the parts, and it will still make up to a tight fit when you press it all back together. If you can do this, and you don't mind the work, try some J-B weld. It is a type of two part epoxey. Mix a small portion of each tube together and butter the pieces with enough to put them together with just a bit of oozing on the outside. Put them together and wipe the excess off. Use tape to keep the parts in position. A clamp is preferable, but rubber bands, bungee ties, or a lot of different items will work for the same purpose. Let it set according to the directions. The J-B weld is available at H/Depot, Lowes & W/Mart, and the repair is stronger than the original piece (no, I don't work for them, thank-you-very-much!) Cost: ~$7.00.
If you elect to replace it, try a local appliance parts supply house. A generic may work. You can order one on line or from and save as they say. Either way, whether you replace it or fix it, this should help you gain access to it.
Generic though it is, I do hope this helps. Regards, WoobieDog

Handle on top oven is disconnected

On the plastic part if pieces large enough:no fast cyano-acrylate superglue to be used. use 2 component epoxy based glue. super glue can't restit water and temperature and really never works. Get to the screw by dismantling the door looking at how it is screwed to gether. Usually from the inside.
Top is you can order an original replacement. Sometimes by local handu man store. If the construction is such that was screwed in from outside then it becomes a driling out procedure with a small HSS drill. Try to center point that screw a pit that the drill wont run away. Another trick is trying to make a square groove and screw it out. This is almost impossible if nothing sticks out. If sticking out you can use carefully thin metal saw or catch it with right type pliers. Trying to drill from the inside is a good way because driill goes right direxction to screw it out or the screw is sticking out far enough to use pliers for turning pack out or the saw method to make a groof for screwdriver. Wenn all fails:b drill all out, use larger screw. If needed thread it. If no success at all, check back

Maytag Gemini oven glass door panels impossible to clean

We had an ugly spill of hot grease/water from a roast, and lots of it ran right into the vent holes on our oven door, covering various layers of glass and other parts inside the door. Yuck. Thankfully we found this site!

"fixetheoven" was certainly on the right track, but missed a key step that makes this job much, much easier. (Maybe they had a few too many sips of wine during the process?! :-)

Anyway, the key to make the job easy, and do-able by one person, is to pull the door off the hinges before starting to remove any screws! Here's how we did it:

1. Open the door about four inches or so, it will stay in place. Hold the door at the sides and lift it up, sliding it right off of the hinges! Now lay it carefully face up on a table so you have easy access to the screws, and no danger of the glass dropping out of the bottom of the door (as apparently happened to "fixedtheoven".)
2. Remove the two screws that hold the panel on one side of the door. (One screw is halfway up the side panel, the other is on the bottom edge of the door.)
3. Slide the panel off, paying close attention to how it fits into place so you can return it to its original position later!
4. Remove the two screws that hold the panel on the other side of the door, and slide that panel out as well.
5. Remove the three screws that hold the panel across the bottom edge of the door, and remove that panel.
6. Now you can slide the front glass out from under the top edge of the door.
7. Clean the front glass, the side panels, and the bottom panel, as needed.
8. There will be another layer of glass inside the door. If it needs cleaning on the underside, remove the screws from one of the metal brackets that hold the glass in place. You can then slide this piece of glass out from the metal bracket at the other side.
9. After cleaning everything, reassemble the door by reversing the above steps.
10. Lift the door by the sides and carefully slide it back into place on the hinges. Be sure it is properly in place and being held there before you let go!!
11. Now go pour that glass of wine and sip to your heart's content, while admiring how clean your oven door is!

Oven door handle (right side)came loose

If you put the door at a 45 degree angle on the hinges, it will lift right off. Then once on the ground, it should be easy to remove the screws of the inner panel and expose the screws that the door handle attaches to.

I have a Maytag Model MGR5770ADW and it appears that the left side door hinge spring is broken. How do I remove the side panel to investigate? Thanks, Ken

no need to remove the side panel, the door itself lifts off the hinges, and it will be reall obvious, if its broke, theres no servicing it just replace, and its done from the fornt, 2 screws and the hinge falls into the unit ( can grabit from pulling out lower storage drawer. part number (74011141) , might as well replace he 2 hinges one broke whos to say the right one is gonna last much longer

Maytag electric range door handle (how to replace?)

The above solution is fine, but you don't have to remove the door.  Open the storage drawer for access to the trim screws (3) on the bottom of the door, remove the screws.  Have a helper hold the glass along the bottom. Take the three screws on the top of the door trim out.  Slide out the glass and put in a safe place.  Remove the four screws that hold the handle brackets in place, remove the handle (or tighten if loose). Install the new handle (one screw on each side).  Reinstall all parts in the reverse order of disassembly.  The entire job took less than 30 minutes.
