Question about HP Presario C555nr Notebook
I have a HP Presario C555NR Notebook PC . I would like to upgrade the ram. It has 512 mb of ram. How much ram will it support. I know it has only 1 dimm slot. Kindly help.
Each memory slot on the C555NR can support a maximum of 1GB of RAM. There are actually 2 slots, but only one is easily accessible to you. By upgrading both the primary and secondary DIMMs, you could achieve a total of 2GB of memory but you would have to remove the 512mb chip that is already installed and replace it with 1GB (+1GB in the expansion slot as well.)
If you don't plan on taking the computer to a professional to be serviced, you will probably only want to upgrade the memory in the secondary slot located under the memory cover on the underside of the computer. It can handle a 1GB SODIMM.
FYI the memory is:
200 Pin DDR2-533 PC2-4200 SODIMM
