Cub Cadet has gas, has spark, has air -still won't start/run

Are you pulling the plug to check for wetness after cranking it a few times, WITHOUT using the starting fluid? Also, I would recommend using carb cleaner in place of the starting fluid. Starting fluid runs the engine VERY hot for a brief time and can possibly damage rings, valves, and aluminum parts.

I have a snapper 28 hi vac riding mower that won't

first try and start it with carb cleaner or starting fluid with the air filter out if it fires then its a carb/fuel problem if not it could be a spark problem remove the plug connect hte wire back up and crank the engine over while looking for spark if no spark disconnect the kill switch wires from the side of the engine should be a single wire near the throttle cable if spark with that off the problem is in the wiring or safety switch if still no spark its the coil

HI jLAFORCE 1.
Other possible causes include: Loose, Dirty or Disconnected Spark Plug in Your Lawn Mower: Check it out, clean off debris, re-connect and tighten. Fuel Not Reaching the Engine: Tap the side of the carburetor to help the flow of gas. If this doesn't work, you might need a new fuel filter.

I changed oil, blade, spark plug,air filter on tecumseh lawn boy 10685 mower...now it will not start!!! gas tank was emptied, per instructions. before changes, it started right up on first pull before...

Hi

Make sure the blade and shaft can easily be moved by hand. First, remove the spark plug wire from the plug. Reach under the mower and see if the blade will turn or if something is stuck between the blade and the mower. Also remember that you have to hold the safety bar when you are starting the mower or the engine won't turn. It is possible that the cable from the safety bar to the engine brake has come loose. Follow the cable from the safety bar to the engine and make sure it is working.Also check whether the line from the gas tank to the engine is crimped?

Bought this lawn mower.It was sitting for two years and now it won't start.

first things first:
1) make sure that the kill for the magneto/coil is breaking contact( it is on the side of the mower,follow the cable down from the red bar)
2) gas to carburetor
3) spark to plug/s
4) gas to cylinder/s

pull plug and try starting mower, observe spark plug for spark and fuel coming out of cylinder/s. if spark no gas, then check to see if it getting to the carburetor, if it is then it is the float and seat in the carburetor and will need to be cleaned/replaced/rebuilt. Or just simple pour gas into the carburetor and try starting if it starts then it is the fuel line, carburetor. Hope this helped Tim

Lawn Mower will not stay running then will not restart

I think we all understand the frustation penaone.
I noticed u didn't clean the fuel tank, water, dirt, and rust in it can give u problems. But u need to clean the lines and carb. again also. One of the kids filled my mower gas tank with driveway gravel once, and after I cleaned things out, the mower never run so good. Also your spark may be grounding out somewhere before it gets to the spark plug. Check for a bad spot in the wires from the magneto. Some of that may be behind the flywheel though.

WONT START

Not so many reasons she won't start. 4-Strokes are Simple!

Here they are:

Motor:
Fuel Tank-> Fuel Line-> Fuel Filter-> Carb-> Intake (Valve)-> Piston-> Exhaust (Valve)-> Muffler

Carb (Old Style):
Fuel Side:
Fuel Bowl-> Float-> Needle Seat-> Fuel Ports (Venturi)
Air Side:
Air Filter-> Carb Air Intake-> Butterflies (2)
(Clean 'em ALL!)

Hardware (Motor):
Rotor (Magnets)-> Magneto (Ignition Coil)-> Spark Plug Wire-> Spark Plug-> Cylinder Head (Spark Plug Ground)

Ignition:
Kill Switches (Seat, Clutch, etc.)-> Spark Plug/Ignition Coil-> Ground
Key Ignition-> Battery->Starter/Generator

If one of those fail.......= Non-Starting 4-Stroke!

Fixes-
Fuel:
You are either getting too much, or too little. Too much = Carb.
Too little = Carb. Therefore, tear down the Carb (COMPLETELY-Careful!) and clean it up.

Electrical:
Grounding out the System (Kill Switches)
Battery-> Ignition-> Starter.
Magneto->Plug Wire->Plug (Check 'em all!)
