Question about Epson Stylus NX400 InkJet Printer
I have an Epson Printer #NX415, 2 months old, I am trying to put in a new (remanufactured) ink cartridge. the Printer has an error message ''cannot recognize ink cartrideges''. how to reset or what to do to allow new one to be installed??
Remove all the cartridges, turn of the machine, leave it off for few minutes. Unplug the usb cable and power cord. Clean all the cartridges contact points and also the contact points on the printer. You can use cotton dipped in acetone/alcohol/spirit. Also open up the front panel door and clean whatever is possible. After everything's cleared and dried, reconnect the power cord. Power on the printer, leave it on for few minutes and install the cartridges. Once again turn it off.
(Note:This is going to reset the printer, do it carefully) Again turn the printer on while holding down both the ink and paper buttons. Release both buttons when the paper light flashes , then press and hold down the ink button for several seconds (approx 10 secs). This will forcefully reset the printer to it default state/condition. Now you can use the printer as usual.

I would not suggest installing a re-manufactured ink on your printer. The error message appears because you have installed a non-genuine cartridge. New models of Epson printers have detection systems that detects or hinders/stop usage of re-manufactured ink cartridges. There are instance the printer accepts non-genuine cartridges, but still may impose problems such as mismatch in color, alignment and other print related issues. Another, there are some instances the printer quits or stops printing after sometime using non genuine inks. I have experienced it first hand, and had those issues,and the worst thing is I have to replace the printer head after prolonged usage of re-manufactured inks.
