Question about Audiovox MMDV3 Portable DVD Player without Screen

1 Answer

Hello, I have an audiovox tv installed as an aftermarket item in 2002. It had a separate DVD player installed under the front seat, which was stolen. Fortunately the robber left all the wires intact. I have the video cables, fm transmitter cable, and a power cable with a funny little two prong plug. I bought a replacement MMDV3 player that comes with a cigarette lighter power source that has a little transformer on it. But I would rather get the power from the wire that powered the former unit. Is there an adapter one can buy to hook up? Thanks.

We would require the model #s of both units to see if there is such an adapter.

Thanks!!

I don't have the model number for the stolen dvd player. And the new one is known as the Movies2Go MMDV3. I could take a picture of the power plug that served the old device. It must be attached to a fuse panel in my car.

I need the codes to program a magnavox tv with built in dvd player with this remote

Your universal remote should have a code search feature that allows you to search through its library to find a code or codes that will work. You might need two separate codes for the TV and the DVD player.

I think either a connect is not either seated fully in to the TV or that the TV itself is the problem. You should check the instructions of the TV and make certain you have the right sound set-up for devices connected to the TV. It will be under some menu on your TV. Also check that the DVD is outputing a sound signal that the TV can use.

According to the Pioneer FAQ for this item :

2) Using the front panel buttons, hold down the STOP button and press STANDBY/ON to switch the player back on."

We have an audiovox 15" Flat Panel LCD TV with built-in DVD player (Model # FPE1507DV) and the DVD player doesnt work at all. What do we do since they no longer make these TV sets? Who can repair or...

About your only option is to try and find a used replacement drive, try ShopJimmy.com and also search for your tv's model number on their and eBay, if your really lucky you might find a working pulled drive from another TV, but otherwise your pretty much stuck, there just isn't parts available other then other used ones to replace it. I get a lot of tv's in for repair with dead built in DVD players, i always recommend now to get a separate DVD player as the built in ones never last and when they die they are just dead. You could get a cheap dvd player and hook it up and use that instead, but your options of fixing the internal one are pretty limited.

I have an AudioVox D1020 portable DVD player. Recently it has stopped ejecting DVDs, but will still play the DVD in the drive. There is a loud whirring sound when the eject button is pushed

The PCB board for the CD controls has slid out of its bracket slightly into the pathway of the CD.

Open the DVD player, there are 3 screws on back corners and one on the bottom. Use a penny in the slots where the speakers go and gently separate the back from the front, but only very slightly. Be cautious now, because there are several wiring bundles between the front and the back. Reach into the gap, at the top where the CD control buttons are, find the PCB for the CD controls and gently push it back into place. Put the front and back together, power up and see if you've cleared the pathway.
