Question about BenQ DC C740 Digital Camera

3 beeps after switchon and no operation

When I switch on the camera the zoom lens extracts like normal and the camera shows the normal starting picture. But then it beeps 3 times (sonds like "bleet-bleet-bleet") and the zoom lens retracts and the camera shuts down. I exchanged the card and the batteries but the problem still remains. I can still look at the pictures on the card (via show-button), but as soon as I try to take a picture the above describes beeps occur.
Anyone any idea how I can solve the problem?
Thanks in advcance

There is nothing you as the user can do to fix the camera, you have two choices, sent it back to the maker for repair/exchange or replace the camera.

Hi, the issue is with Batteries. Please replace the Batteries of same specification in order to use the Digital Camera. The Photos in the Memory Card is powered by USB as the Power Source from your Computer and not your Camera's Batteries. So please replace the batteries with new one.

My samsung pl20 camera was dropped and it say the zoom did not operate normally

Pull gently back and forth on the lens while in outward position. Do this several times until you hear a click. This will put the lens back in place and should go in and out afterwards with no problems. The lens was knocked out of alignment when dropped and do the above will put it back into alignment.

Camera beeps and turns off and lens won't retract

Lens error / Battery expire.
1. Use a new battery will fully charged and then use it. Hope you get good result.

2. Some time lens zooming gear getting damaged by dust. if that gear is scrached by dust then your lens can't work and it will stucked. Your camera automatically turn off.

Of those 2 85% chance of poor/ long time used Battery & 15% chance of lens zooming gear damaged.

Thanks, i am waiting for your feed back & if you satisfied then thumps me please.

I switch the camera on. I get 3 beeps and it shuts down.

Hi,
The problem is of zoom lens motor which operates lens cover along with zoom, and it needs replacement with new part, and camera will start working fine again.

The camera zoom got jammed

This can be caused by several different situations. Most commonly the camera has experienced some kind of impact which knocks an element out of alignment, preventing the lens from rotating normally. Symptoms of this include: *you may hear no mechanical sound at all when the camera is turned on *you may see visibly mis-aligned components of the lens *you may hear a loud "snap snap" sound as the camera tries to move the lens when the camera is powered on The second most common cause is a particle of sand getting stuck in the focus motor drive gears. This prevents the focus element from moving normally and causes the camera to shut off to prevent damage to the lens assembly. Symptoms of this include: *A loud "buzzing" sound when the camera is turned on, followed by the beeping and shutdown. Finally the third most common cause of this problem is a broken tooth on the zoom motor drive gears. Symptoms of this include: *the sound of the running motor with a regular "click click click" sound for several seconds. This will not be a "snap snap" sound, that is a different problem. *the lens will move in and out easily by hand as if free from any resistance. All of these problems require disassembly to repair. The charge is around $125 at my shop. Broken drive gears are generally This can be caused by several different situations. CAMERS TURNS ON LENS OUT THEN BACK IN... 3 STEADY CLICKING SOUNDS

well i´m the bad news guy, it could be two things, or u droped the camera and the zoom lens is out of the place and the sensors arent working properly or it´s just the sensors that are no working, the only way is to send to a repair centre normally they just replace all the lens. All the beeps it´s just to say that the lens is lost.... can´t locate it self.

For DSC-W17: The lens extended (normally I thought), but would not zoom. I shut it, and it was attempting to extract-retract, but shut with the lens rather extracted. Putting constant gentle pressure helped the lens to retract while shutting, even though it was attempting to extract again for 2-3 seconds.

Harder pressure however (about 1/2 kilo strength on wooden desk) made the lens totally unoperational... :(
