Question about Pioneer AVD-W6200 6.5 in. Car Monitor

3 Answers

Ref: avd w6200. 2004 Motorhome installation. Acts like loose connection when traveling but not always. Picture appears like a week signal, dim and sometimes goes off, no picture. Is there something needs replaced? I found a part that is connected, No:ISO MAX. Discovered tipping screen backwards seems to brighten the picture. Seems we have always had some of this problem since 2004. Appreciate help Thanks so much, Myron Warner Rome City,IN 46784

Hello,

I think the problem with your monitor is that, the picture board on the monitor is malfunctioning that is why it keeps losing signal and goes off or did mot display picture.
What you need to do is to replace the picture board on your LCD monitor, replacing the picture board will solve the problem, because the picture board on the monitor at the moment is bad and will need to be replace.

Replace the picture board and you will see that the problem will not repeat itself again.

Take care.

This sounds like a problem with the flat wire connecting the motherboard inside the monitor, Replace the cable which will cost around a few dollars and it will be back working.

Actually, lcd screens when tilted do appear lighter or darker depending on the angle of viewing. Also, the ntsc signal you get through your antenna may vary in strength and make the picture completely go out if you are in a weak signal area, such as a small town vs. the big city where broadcasters are concentrated. HDTV signals can be horrible in this way in outlying areas.

Dimmer Function: You can select the brightness level from High, Medium or Low settings. Furthermore, if the Illumination wire is connected to the vehicle's headlight circuit, the display will automatically dim when the headlights are turned on. You can store different brightness/dimmer settings for each source.
Monitor Adjustments: You can make the following picture adjustments to the monitor:

  • Brightness: You can make black appear darker or lighter (-24 to +24).
  • Contrast: You can narrow or widen the gap between black and white (-24 to +24).
  • Color: You can make colors appear lighter or darker (-24 to +24).
  • Hue: You can adjust the red or green of the picture (-24 to +24).
Note: These settings are stored by the source (Video 1/Video 2) and the lighting switch (Car lights on/off)

All hdtv units that rely on over the air broadcasts will experience technical difficulties in fringe areas.

I experience this with my full size hdtv in Somerset, PA where Johnstown (30 mi. away) is the nearest transmitter.

And, I'm not even in a mobile vehicle with that installation.

I wish you luck in fixing this problem.

Is the display so dark all of the time as if the 'circuit control' for having it connected to the parking brake or shift lever (Park) is not connected right? There is a feature on this monitor that will not allow you to use it normally if you are determined to be on the road with it. It's that way to prevent distractions, I think, for the driver.

You may have got the wiring wrong for the Power
it has one power and one for connecting to headlight power Which when headlights on it will illuminate the radio more/less depending on manufacture.

Check the "screen" control on the flyback (lower knob) its easy to hit moving a board around. Try to adjust back to its original setting. Look for where the dust is, it should be on top. Or any marks might help. Other wise adjust slowly, back off if any retrace lines appear, with user settings at there normal settings.
