Make sure that you have the microphone plugged into the RED socket on your computer. On the right hand side of the taskbar, right click on the little speaker icon, and press open volume controls. Make sure that Microphone is not muted and that the volume level is adjusted right.

I cant hear anyone on skype

Are your speakers plugged in? Is your volume turned on? Try restarting your computer. Try wearing headphones. Make sure the other user has microphones plugged in and they are not muted. If you are wearing headphones, set it to the default device. If you not using headphones, set the system speakers to the default device. If you do not know how to this, google is your friend. Hope this helps.

When i insert the head phone in my c5 Nokia mobile, person on the other side can hear me but i am not able to hear anything

Check with another headphone to confirm If the fault stays then it is possible there are problems on the headphone sockets. if not the headphone is defective.
Also if there are same issues with the phone speaker/mic , then it can be related to the circuit. try and open menu - settings and restoring the phone to factory settings.

When I plug in my headphones to the tv the external speakers don't turn off and can't hear the tv though my headset. can someone help with the setting

If you enter the analogue settings, you will probably find a setting for headphones and settings for loudspeakers.
You may have to mute the tv speakers whilst the headphone amplifier carries on for you.

I just cooect headphone to VizioP50 HDTV & can't hear anything. is there some step I must do on the remote? Can't seems to find anything about this on the manuel.

You have to check if the headphone is functional and try inserting it 4 times to clear the headphone socket from any obstruction. When the headphone is inserted to the socket there must be no audio output in the speaker of the tv set.

When I record and listen to playback, I only hear the left side.

This is normal for recording. Even professionals do the same. What you need is to set your input to mono(either hardware or software), or explore your software look for effects like STEREO to MONO with some delay which I prefer for my recording. I did have a good result. Good Luck

I'm having the same problem. Try this, plug some headphones into your phone and then activate your music and while your music is playing unplug your headphones. It worked for me.

Headphone jack problem

Starting point needs to be to find out whether the problem is with your headphones, or with the player. See if you can borrow someone else's player for five minutes, swap the headphones over, then see which one works. If the problem moves to the borrowed player, buy yourself a new set of headphones (although it's usually possible to repair them, the quality of repair is rarely worth the effort). If the fault stays with your player, first check all your settings to make sure you haven't "told" the machine to make no noise. Once convinced it's actually broken, you have the choice of taking it to get it fixed, or opening it up to see if you can see anything obviously wrong. Realistically, any inspection you can do once in is likely to be confined to checking the headphone socket and its connection to the board for damage. If you do decide to open the thing up, make sure all your music is backed up somewhere else first. A.
