I downloaded the manual and the specifications and
according to the manual the sump gets filled with a high concentration of minerals and that it should flush out automatically. Have you looked in the sump to see if there is a blockage that needs to be cleaned somewhere?

there should be an automatic overfill prevention mechanism that prevents the sump from overflowing. Is this working too well? Is it clean?

I hope this helps.

I have the manual too. During both the initial fill and the harvest cycle fresh water comes in through nozzles in the freezing surface (the incoming water helps to release the ice). The sump has a simple overflow drain. It seems something is keeping keeping the sump from fully refilling; perhaps the fill during the harvest cycle is shutting off prematurely. I can't figure out what shuts the fill off.

I think that it is like a toilet fill valve, but it may be hidden from the user. I read that sometimes minerals build up in the sump and it must be cleaned as part of regular maintenance.

Even, toilets have to have low mineral water to function correctly, and sometimes minerals can get in the way of the proper functioning (as in the case of 'hard' water areas).

I worked on a hoshizaki km-500mae when i turn it on the first cycle it makes good ice but after the first cycle it makes little pieces. why?

time the cycle. if it is only running about 5 minutes and going into harvest, look for sump loosing water. Look at where the unit drains (like a floor drain) while the unit is running to see how much, if any water is draining. does not take much to make an early harvest. also, sump may not be filling up completely but with just enough water to satisfy the float.

Not making Ice

Are you getting any heat from the condenser? Sounds like the buzzing is the compressor failing to pump.

Franklin chef ice maker fim70 finished running cleaning cycle. have cleaned plugs, lines, on rear and sprayer inside bin. water continues to run, ice forms on top (w/ frost). Ice never drops.

Hello

Ice may jam up in an ice dam and close off the chute. Shove the ice scoop up into the chute with a fair amount of force to break up the ice dam. Chunks of ice should fall into the bin, followed by a shower of ice cubes.

Have a comercial ice machine ,dont know how to hook up!

You gonna have a drain for the reservoir to clean the unit and a drain for the ice bin and then a connection for inlet water. The water valve is the key. Look for it.
