When I try to change channels or go up and down aiming my remote at the box, the SAT light comes on and stays on causing the channels to run all the way to channel #71. We have new batteries in our remote. Please help. Julia.

The remote is faulty: the SAT light comes on to signal that a command is sent , it stays up because that command (channel up) is continuously sent.. Simple test: press the button, wait a little and then cover the IR led with your hand to block the signal - the channels should stop moving.
Remotes cannot be fixed. If one fails (whatever the fail is) it must be replaced.

Definitely it's a faulty remote. Nothing more can be done to it, junk it and buy a new one.

Hello,

The problem of the remote is that, there is a button stock on it. causing it to run all the way down to #71.

The solution to the problem is for you to simply get a screwdriver and open up the remote.

Get naphthalene, and clean the panel carefully using a light brush or cotton bud. Ensure that the naphthalene is not much on the cotton bud, if not it can permanently damage the panel of the remote.

After cleaning the panel with naphthalene, use the heat from a bulb to dry it up. Once it is dried, reassemble it back together and test it on the cable and you will be surprised how effective it will be.

Take care

What kind of solution did you use to clean the remote, and what quantity did you use?

The problem is from panel because there is a key or button that is stuck on it.

If after cleaning and drying the remotes panel and its not responding, it simply means you have to get a replacement remote for the box.

    Take care

I have a remote that only works to control the t.v but when i try to turn on the cable it doesn't work at all

Stacy,

We can definitely look into re-addressing the remote for you. Verify the remote is in SAT mode by pressing the SAT button for me. Once that's done, try changing the channels.

If the problem continues, follow the steps below to program the remote! Let me know if it continues after that.

Addressing Remote to Receiver:

1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test remote and see if it works.

My remote won't let me channel down past a certain channel, I can type the numbers in and it will go but if I try to arrow down channels it goes about 5 channels and then starts back over where it started,...

What channels are you able to receive? When you press the Select button on DISH remote, which light on the top of the remote lights up? The Sat button should light up when you are in satellite mode. If any other button lights up, press and release the Sat button and then try changing channels. If this doesn't work, we may need to troubleshoot with you. Please call us on 1-800-333-3474 and speak with Tech Support. I hope this helps.

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. It sounds like your remote may need to be readdressed to your DISH receiver. I will list here for you the instructions for addressing your remote to your receiver box. If you are using the TV2 remote make sure you take it to the TV1 location to perform the trouble shooting steps. If you are using TV1 remote stay at the receiver box location. I hope you find these instructions useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to post back here or email me directly at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com.

Instructions for addressing remote to DISH receiver
  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or by pressing the power button once then the channel up button once on the front of the receiver box.
  2. Once you are in the system info screen you will see primary remote address (TV1) and secondary remote address (TV2).
  3. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the white square.
  5. Press the pound (#) button
  6. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Can not change channel with my new remote on my bell receiver

There could be a few different things causing the problem, but beginning troubleshooting would consist of the basic questions such as, are there fresh batteries in the remote and is the remote in the correct "Mode?" In order to change the satellite channels- remote needs to be in "SAT," mode, you can verify what mode the remote is in by attempting to change channels, or by simply pressing any button on the remote such as channel up or down - if the remote is in fact in sat mode the "SAT" button in the upper left hand corner of the remote will light up- this will allow you to confirm the remote is in the correct mode to allow you to successfully change channels. Also another potential issue is when you started experiencing these remote problems- has anything changed? Did you perhaps move the receiver to a different/new location? The sensor on the top of the remote and the front panel of the receiver need to have a clear path of signal in order to work, sometimes (usually rare) if the receiver is enclosed within a cabinet with glass doors this can cause an issue as well. Hope one of these tips helps; feel free to contact me directly if you need any further assistance.

Need code-Innovage Jumbo remote for Motorola cable box & GE tv

The codes for a GE TV are: 000, 021, 053, 063, 115, 117, 120 & 134.

To program your remote by entering a code, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button for at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up and stays lit.
  3. Press the TV button on the remote so that the LED blinks once and then remains solid red.
  4. Enter the first set of 3-digit codes from the list. The LED will blink once every keypress. After the 3rd digit, the red LED will turn off indicating that the code was recognized for the device. If the code was not compatible, the LED will flash several times and you need to return to step 2 to try that code again or to try the next code in the list.
  5. After the LED has turned off, aim the remote at the TV and press ON/OFF. If the device turns off, you have used the correct code and the remote was successfully programed. If the device does not power off, return to step 2 and try again with the next code in the list.
To find the right code for the Motorola box, I recommend auto-searching through the CABLE and SAT code lists.

To have the remote try each CABLE or SAT code it knows one at a time, follow these steps:
  1. Turn on your cable box.
  2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button for at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up and stays lit.
  3. Press the CABLE or SAT button on the remote so that the LED blinks once and then remains solid red.
  4. Press the ON/OFF button slowly and repeatedly until the cable box turns off. The LED will blink once each time you press the ON/OFF button.
  5. Once the cable box turns off, press the ENTER button to store the code and the LED will turn off.
I hope that helps.
