SOURCE: wireless keyboard doesnt work with switch

once you have switched pc you will need to re-sync the wireless keyboard and mouse with the new pc, because although you have switched pc the keyboard and mouse do not know this. there should be a reset/resync button on the bottom of both the keyboard and mouse

SOURCE: wireless mouse not responding. Can you help??

Specs say keyboard has 2 AA batteries and the mouse has 2 AAA batteries. Try sliding off half of the top of the mouse to replace the batteries.

I have a Trendnet TK-209 KVM switch. My keyboard and mouse (MS wireless) that worked well for a year stopped working through the switch. they work well if connected directly to each computer.

I can confirm the same problem happened with me just now. I have TrendNet USB/KVM TK-207 and was flawlessly working with Logitech K260 Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Combo, but today on both computers all I can see is the error:

.
USB Device not recognized - The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.

I unplugged the usb wireless adapter and connected it directly to the PC - it worked like a charm again. I have tried to connect the wireless adapter to the mouse port hoping that the keyboard USB port is causing problems, but all I got was the same error. I have tried to conect a normal USB keyboard, but again the same error I get for both - the mouse and keyboard, so it is more than obvious now that the USB ports of my KVN Switch are malfunctioning. I will try to leave it for a while if it got hot somehow as it was connected for more than 6 months working perfectly fine, but if not, I am heading to the store for support/replacement.

My wireless mouse and keyboard have been working fien. When i switched on today, I got a "usb device not recognised" and they no longer funtion. ihave tried to check for new drivers, restarted...

I had that problem when I reinstalled my OS. I went to the Microsoft website and searched for the software for the keyboard and mouse, Intellipoint, for the mouse I think. It comes as a package for the mouse and kb based on the model you have. Pretty simple to find. Just load it and it should install without a problem and be recognized by PC. If your USB drivers are OK, this should be all you need to do.

The keyboard is also paired with a wireless mouse. They both use the same USB wireless receiver. If the wireless mouse you are using is not from the set then no, you can not use the same receiver for both.

Mouse

If you replaced the batteries make sure they where "new" batteries, try pressing the sync button on the mouse first, then on the receiver.

If that fails unplug the receiver from the computer wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in, wait for windows to recognize the device again, then re-sync the two.

Wireless devices are handy, however they do add one more area of failure to your computer. I'd highly recommend going with a USB mouse unless you need the wireless range.
