3. Remove the side-panels.
4. Disconnect all the interior cables from your motherboard (power, data, audio, et cetera).
5. Unscrew any screws holding add-in cards (modem, video) in-place.

Disconnect the unit from both the mains and the monitor. wear an electrostatic wrist band. fix the board in place, screw in place properly.do not shake the unit but turn it downside up to ensue that there are to loose screws. fix the cooling system followed by the memory and every other thing. the power supply should be fixed last.

What motherboard is fitted to an Asus a6000km laptop and where can I get a replacement

It's an ASUS motherboard, and the only places to get a replacement are ASUS, or if you're lucky, you might find a motherboard on eBay.

However, a laptop motherboard is not a "user-replaceable" part.

Just "trash" the laptop, and buy a new one at a "Boxing Day/Week Sale" at the local big-box computer/electronics store -- it will cheaper than paying ASUS for a replacement motherboard.

I've wrestled with many crc1 and crc2 problems on IBM machines here at my shop. This is a malfunctioning bios chip on the motherboard. There is no simple clearing procedure for this problem. The chip or the motherboard has to be replaced. I've had about a 25% success rate in replacing the chip, and 100% success by replacing the motherboard. Chip replacement is a delicate procedure in which you have to completely disassemble the machine remove he old chip with a soldiering iron and resoldier the new chip to the board. Soldiering on the motherboard is something I wouldn't recommend without experience. I would recommend replacing the motherboard, It's much easier, and possibly cheaper, since replacing the chip may or may not work. If you replace the chip and it doesn't work, then you're out the money for the chip, and you have to replace the motherboard anyway. The price for the chip is about a third the cost of a new motherboard. You can get a decent price for a good used motherboard for the T20 series from Ebay.

Motherboard replacement question

You should be fine. Once the MoBo (if it is an exact replacement) is in and your box is completely assembled you should be good to go. I don't know why you are expecting a BSOD though?

I hope this helps,
