Question about AquaVac Tigershark Plus Robotic Automatic In Ground Pool Cleaner

1 Answer

Aquavac Tiger shark won't operate

We bought a resale home with an in-ground pool. It came with an Aquavac Tiger Shark automatic pool cleaner. I used it 3 times with the water dirty and it worked normal. Once the water was clear, I used it and the unit was practically climbing out of the pool and not covering the entire pool. Last week I bought new filters for it. Now, yesterday I put the new filters in, went to use it and the unit wont turn on. The Base powers on but not the pool unit. I called the 800 number on the manual and the company is now owned by Hayward. They sent me hopelessly thru the automated phone system. I typically fix my own things so I'm hoping I won't have to take this in for repairs. Any help will be greatly apppreciated. Thanks

Hi, Thanks. I tested the power supply and sure enough sockets 1 & 2 have 24V across but 3 & 4 do not.
Having discovered this, can you recommend any next steps? I plan to remove the cover later today and trace the wires coming from sockets 3 & 4 just to see if something came loose. If that doesn't help I guess I'm done. I am having trouble finding a repacement power supply online let alone the inner components for this one.

I do have another question. Again, I inherited all this used equipment. Although this Tiger Shark system worked 3 time before dying, I can't help but notice the acutal cleaning unit motor states "P40000" & "26V" while the power supply states "P30000 & "24V". Should I be concerned about this difference? The cleaning unit is labeled "Tiger Shark"(not Tiger Shark II, Plus, etc...)

    Thanks again for your help.

The power supply powers on even when it doesn't output any voltage, so it's kind of misleading. You should have the power supply checked or you can do it yourself if you have a multi-meter, by measuring the output and making sure there is 24V.

I wouldn't be concerned about the 2V difference. If you know how to measure diodes and trasistors, you could probably fix it yourself by buying/recovering components and replacing the defective ones. Otherwise, find a electronics repair shop and they will fix it for you. Good luck!

Tigershark comes out of the water too far

You need to reduce the flow through the impeller - there should be a baffle (something in plastic, round, that will be installed at the top of the shark) in the box that it came in.

Was the store able to scan the motor to pull out operational info? Was it water tested prior to being returned to you? Perhaps the store will make accomodations to get it returned and repaired correctly?

My Aqua Vac Tiger Shark is sqeaking. I think the wheel tube bearing assembly is broken. How do I replace this part?

Thank you for posting your question here on

Either side's drive system is composed of two guide bearings, a drive pulley and both wheel tubes. You need to replace whichever one(s) are failing. Remove the seven screws inside the unit that hold the side plate on as well as the handle screw. Pull the side plate and replace parts as needed. Reassemble in reverse order. For a price on the part(s) please contact us thru We stock most Tiger Shark parts.

Tiger shark will not move

The motor that drives it forward and back is seperate from the fan and is defective unless your stuck on the main drain the motor unit needs replacing.
