Phone always searching - Philips CD1503B/17 Phone

    phones say searching. Won't find base station

    Was working fine the night before, today all the handsets say searching. Tried to put it on the base for 30 seconds, no go.

Ah this issue I think evades any Phillips Phone User - But Alas a workable solution:

First, you must understand what happened. Basically your phone has become undetectable by the base and must be re-registered. Now, before you start to panic, its a very simple step. This is what I did, and had my phones up and running in a minute.

1. Collect all your hand sets and go to the base!

2. Unplug the power cord from the base and you see that speaker button, hold it down for 20 seconds. (Us tech geeks like to call this cycling power, on a spiritual level you are releasing all the bad energy!)

3. Plug your base back in. You will notice all your phones will read "Press Ok".

4. Do each phone separately.
a) Press "Ok" on the Handset
b) Hold down the Speaker Looking button on your base for 5 Seconds and Release
c) When done right, you will here a beep and your handset is good to go
d) Rinse, Repeat for each Phone.

All phones should now be ready to use. Hope this helps.

Channel Searching message, but phone is right next to unit


If your phone worked fine and this problem just started happening and seems to be getting worse, I would change the battery, even if the charge light indicates that the battery is charging and you "think" the battery is charged.

Most of these weird problems that start occurring in a phone that always worked fine are caused by the battery goinf dead. You can buy a replacement battery on ebay for like $6-$7 with shipping for most models of cordless phones. I sort of rehab cordless phones that I get at yard sales and at goodwills and sell them on ebay. Out of 50 or 60 so far, I have never found a broken one. I have found, however, plenty of phones that initially display all sorts of weird symptoms which are ALWAYS -- and i mean always -- fixed by a new battery. Good luck.

I cannot find the way to mute this phone


I have verizon! lol Try pressing on the side button to turn the volume down until it's at silence all. That should mute all sounds, if that doesn't work then I don't know what to do. You can always call them and bother them and have them tell you lol. Sorry your having trouble with your phone!

My phone can not reset


I am having the exact same issue! I tested the jack with another phone and it works. It is something in the phone. I suspect there is a "clear" button somewhere - but can't find the owners manual.
