SOURCE: not cleaning dishes in model #

One possible solution to your problem could be as follows... Could have been little regular soap or something put in that made it suds up causing it not to drain and reusing the old water to wash. Pouring vegetable oil into the dish washer tub will remove the suds. After running vegetable oil for about 5 minutes, pour 2 cups of vinegar in to the tub and run it on the hottest longest cycle with no dishes in it. This will clean the residue out and what ever "gunk" may be in the internal parts. Use Only powder detergent. No gel and No tabs. These 2 cause a build-up over a period of time of use and reduce the performance of your machine. This should take care of your problem.

Reset on mat14PDAWW

NOTE: On some models, during factory testing, the timer is
advanced partially into the cycle causing the start button to be
depressed. Allow timer to advance to the end of the cycle.
When the cycle is complete, the timer will reset and the start
button will return to the start position. If the timer is not allowed
to advance to the end of the first cycle and reset, the wash load
will not be completed. here is the manual

Maytag dryer MDE7400

depending on model, (mechanical timer or electronic timer)

Mechanical dryer timer has a tiny motor to advance it
many times service techs forget to plug in the timer drive motor when they replace the timer switch that it is screwed to
or they replace the switch when the switch is ok, but the motor is bad
Not a solution just something to check
the timer drive motor is a 2inch diameter press formed sheet metal device 1/2 inch thick on the rear of the timer switch
if there are wires hanging off, that is the solution
if there is no hum from the timer motor when you push the start button, replace the timer drive motor

electronic, not had one break yet

If your timer has a gray rubber ring on it, the timer is in 4 pieces. Pull the top middle part out. Then there's a white locking piece in the center. Once that's out the other 2 pieces will pull out. Note: The photo shows the top cover removed. The locking pin is the white center. RanchMom
